How can I be an American?

How can I be an American if I'm not of this world?

You're an American if you were born in the USA, or was born to at least one American parent.

Once you become a Christian and begin your walk with our Lord, you learn the ways to separate yourself from all the 'worldly' wants. Your focus is on our Lord, and you demonstrate your love for our Lord through the way you interact with other people, whether at work, church, shopping, etc.

But then I was born into another Kingdom under another Parent.

I empathize with what you're saying.

Hebrews 11:13 "...and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth."

Hebrews 11:16 "But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them."

Philippians 3:20 "For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ."

Can I address the heathen as earthlings?

We are commissioned by our Lord to interact with our fellow mankind. How else can we be shining lights of His love so non-believers can be intrigued to seek Him? We are to share scripture with each other, including non-believers.

We just don't have to subscribe to all the materialism.

I know there's sheep and goats, wheat and tares. Are there moths and roaches? One rushes to the light and gets as close as possible, and the others scatter quickly to the dark.

Greetings earthlings
ponder what heaven will be and how little we are able to grasp it and then how puny, sinful we are then you will see why I said that. the way the Lord has said what it will be is so different and foreign that we cant understand and that only what we have been told

1 Corinthians 15:47
Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven.

You, like everyone else were born of the earth. No one but, Jesus is born not of this earth.

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Jesus is accepted into us, still in the flesh.

1 Corinthians 15:31
I face death every day--yes, just as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Why would Paul say that he dies daily. Because until the day we do leave our body we are all still earthlings.

So same to you earthling. :wave

I know. I'm being facetious. Don't be such an earthling.

You reminded me of what I think when I read psalms 8.

But we're not of this world. 1 Cor doesn't say anything about our citizenship not changing. :dancing
