How far would you go?

I can't say yet, because I'm not a parent yet. (Hopefully someday, hopefully soon.). But I think it really depends on the sitution. Like Mike said regarding drugs, there are some things that are really dangerous to a person, and letting them figure it out on their own, might not be right. But for so many other things, I hope I don't become too over protective.
Hi Not Now, Parents can be over barring (not a good thing for mental development) A child needs to have their own space to explore and learn. But within the boundary that their parents set while instilling in them good character. The best teaching is if the child has a role model (father and mother). Children grow up mimicking there parents more often then not. But without the teaching of Scripture in their life and to know the savior, they can grow up bitter. In drug abuse, sometimes you have to let them hit bottom as long as you are there to catch them. Each case is different, what works for one will not always work for the other. Always pray. (Psalms 103)

I would like to ask a question of those who have children. With all of the corruption and it's increase in this world (drugs, sex, abortion, prostitution, murder in our schools, gay education as a norm, etc.) How far would you go to protect and even recover them if they have fallen prey to these evils? I would like to know what you would give up or not give up for your children?
I am with you on almost everything, but sex is evil?

The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in 1948, provides, in Article 19, that:

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.[1]

as a mother ,for sure i will try my best to love my daughter, protect her stay away from evil, while i am not sure if it is an effective method, because my parents treated me the same way before, but finally,i still fell into this evil world.

Hi sunshine, we had taught our children what we expected of them an gave them a moral compass. But it was prayer that kept them safe, in fellowship daily with the Lord

I have never given up praying,I am praying to God for every moment in my life, especially when only my daughter and I are left, but I really can't make sure that I can protect her from evil, because even I myself is struggling miserably in the evil.

Sunshine... you are not alone you and your daughter are not alone... You are not defeated Christ won that victory.. Some time i feel His victory some times i have to just read it.. I wish i could always 'feel' Him but i dont .. His word says He will never leave you or me.. OK Lord i am trusting in Your Words today cuz i dont feel it..

Then we shall pray also for you and your daughter Sunshine. But since you know what is evil then that is because you are seeking Christ. For the man void of God has no conscience of evil. Evil just comes natural to them.
Praying.
