Actually our men are also guilty in some ways. Majority of women are. It is a biological thing. And for the people who over do it...they say it's laziness. How is it laziness when you take time doing something - and you want to achieve perfection.

Thus time-conscious women (those who use less time doing it) spend:

during bathing - 45mins
combing hair - 15mins
lips work - 6mins
nails - 11mins
other makeup processess - 60mins

finally she spends 30mins in front of the mirror admiring her work..

For those who overdo theirs,....how long does the car horn waiting for you to arrive? How long should he wait until you are done ...and join him in the car??? :dunno :shrug :confused.

One of my sisters spends ages applying her eye makeup thing.

If the service starts at 3pm..,pls tell her to arrive at 10am. She spends all the time on her body. Finally she makes it at 4:30pm

C:

Well, for a woman it can be a very necessary thing.

For a Christian woman, it says that she is being careful and respecting the company that she will be in, to some extent.

You are right that an excessive time (and excessive money, too, even) can be spent on make up.

But excesses don't contradict the widely seen need for it, I guess.

You are right; a lot of men spend much time on the appearance of their cars; I hadn't thought of it that way.

Personally I'm not interested in make-up.
Unless it's for cosplaying. xD But I have yet to do a cosplay that required makeup, anyway. Though some of the other things to do with it may be time-consuming. (When I had to put together an Edward Elric costume, it took like an hour to put the wig on...hard to wear a wig when you have to arrange to get all of your already existing hair out of the way. Everything else took just a few seconds.)

I do use some skin products on my face, and that takes maybe 10 minutes?
I can spend a long time in the tub, but most of it is spent relaxing.

My wife says she doesn't feel dressed if she doesn't 'put on her face' when she goes out...

Everyone is different, of course.

Blessings.

Another thing is, for women, the traditional equivalent of necktie-wearing by men is remembering to put in the earrings.

Since the necktie is partially falling out of favor with men, when many of them feel they can 'get away' without a necktie, the comparison probably isn't as direct as it was several years ago.

But for example in business situations where men would put on a necktie, a woman having taken the trouble to putting in suitable earrings is still a kind of comparable situation.

during bathing - I only shower. It takes like 10 min.
combing hair - I rarely comb it. Either it's too snarled to comb, or it's so smooth that combing is unnecessary. So 0 min.
lips work - I only use eye make up. 0 min
nails - cut them short like once a week. That takes 1 min.
other makeup processess - eye make-up like 5 min.
But I admit I spend some time choosing clothes. 5 - 10 min.

So basically I am ready to leave the house 25 min after getting out of bed.

lol You must know some strange girls. Or some strange stereotypes.

I guess for you, emphasizing the eyes takes a priority.

My wife can't go out without foundation.

Not that I've observed the time she spends on each (she's my lady friend, not my wife -- yet) but I'm relatively certain this is a gross exaggeration for most women, and it certainly is for her. She goes upstairs, spends 30 minutes up there and comes down looking absolutely drop-dead gorgeous. So I think you're off the mark on this one, Classik.

the:

Add an extra minute or two in these days when women often wear multiple pairs of earrings; it all takes time, too, to put them in the multiple holes.

Exactly! I can get ready in 20-30 minutes, or less if I am in a hurry.

Rachel:

I see! well, for my wife, 'putting on her face' as she calls it is an essential part of going out, anyway.

It's kind of ingrained in her to do it, and was in her mother before her, too.

I guess it calls for a paraphrase of John Wayne, right? "A woman has to do what a woman has to do."...

Blessings.

Of course. I was humourously emphatic.

My wife doesn't wear a lot of makeup...she is redheaded, with very fair skin that looks as young today as it was when I married her 34 years ago. She is, however, habitually and pathologically late for everything! I have learned to tell her that any appointment we have is at least 30 minutes earlier than it actually is. Getting her to get ready, get her things together, and in the car is like herding cats! :lol

Oh, and we have never made it out of our driveway without having to go back and get something she forgot. :crazy

God bless you and your wife.

Some women are naturally rosy faced, yes.

Um...huh? :chin

GKC:

I think you'll find anyway that if a woman has quite a naturally rosy/reddish facial coloring, she might not feel the need to put on as much make up or at least do so as frequently.

That's a great advantage for her. Cosmetics Industries won't want to have her around

C: Well, the cosmetics industry has been around for a very long while. (The name of one of Job's daughters, Keren-Happuch, means eye make up holder, apparently.)

I know a lot of people who look even better without those crayon paintings on their skin
