How long does she spend doing it?

I know a lot of people who look even better without those crayon paintains on their skin

C: Yes, well with regard to the crayons, often it's to emphasize the eyes, really, like with mascara crayons.

I see. (I'm not real quick today...or most every day.)

My wife's complexion isn't what I would call "rosy." She doesn't have the typical freckles, unless she spends time out in the sun...then they pop up. Her skin is very fair, very fine and smooth, and very light in tone. While she does wear a little bit of makeup, like mascara, she doesn't wear a lot of other stuff (I'm not an expert in this area.) She has natural beauty, and I'm glad she doesn't try to "amplify" it artificially. She doesn't wear perfume, either...she uses a body lotion that makes her smell...delicious. :thumbsup

My wife doesn't wear a lot of makeup...she is redheaded, with very fair skin that looks as young today as it was when I married her 34 years ago. She is, however, habitually and pathologically late for everything! I have learned to tell her that any appointment we have is at least 30 minutes earlier than it actually is. Getting her to get ready, get her things together, and in the car is like herding cats! :lol

Oh, and we have never made it out of our driveway without having to go back and get something she forgot. :crazy
OK, I can shower and be ready in under 30 min. But sit in the car while hubby takes care of all his last minute stuff. It takes him 5 min just to get his shoes on. I sit for 10 to 15 min. If i wait in the house he will claim he was just killing time while waiting on me.
But it is not till we get a couple of miles down the road that I realize I
Left my Bible, or my reading glasses, or the whole purse, or the address we need, that we are out of checks, we need to stop at the bank in the opposit direction, we need to drop off a check at ________and pick up groceries, buy stamps or bring a main dish. And, since we will be doing some bird watching on the way home, my binoculars are on the shelf near the computer.:(:help:(:oops:shrug

Sounds like you get along perfectly. :toofunny

Carolyn:

Nothing like a time honored routine... :)

Blessings.

Two words for your family: Love and Harmony.

Would you buy her a special gift this month;)?

Maybe these:

I give her a special gift every day: me! :toofunny

Just kidding!

She loves to collect figurines and other things. I keep a list of stuff she likes, and/or has mentioned. I get her something from the list whenever I can...as a little surprise. She is worth far beyond what I could ever give her, so they are mere trinkets...but she likes them.

I see you have a happy home.:)

I see you have a happy home.:)

We have had our ups and downs, good times and bad, over the 34 years we have been married, but we are committed to one another, and we are best friends as well as spouses. Our kids are grown and gone, and we enjoy each other's company more than anyone else. :yes

Grown and gone. Gone sounds a little scary.

Yeah - ups and downs - part of a happy home

Grown and gone. Gone sounds a little scary.

"Gone" as in not living under our roof. They are still very much with us otherwise. :-)

I am fast too, a 5 minute shower and throw on some clothes and I'm ready to wallk out the door in 15 minutes, and that includes coffee, brew before/during I shower and drink before/as I walk out the door. If I take my time in the tub taking a nice long relaxing bath to soak my back I might spend 30 minutes in there.

I used to get ready for work pretty quickly...now that I am retired, I take my time getting ready to go somewhere. (I still get ready to go faster than my wife, without even trying hard.) I love taking a long, hot shower...in fact, I will stay in the shower until the hot water runs out. I would love to have one of those tankless water heaters, for non-stop hot water, but then I'd probably never come out.

Well. My granma spent ages taking her bath.

GKC:

Yes, well, it all depends on the individual, of course.

Re. the mascara, this is something that is unlikely to appear naturally, so it kind of needs special effort, I guess.

I'm actually rather lucky, IMO. My wife wears makeup, though it's not an everyday thing. When she does "get ready" for us to go somewhere, the entire process of shower, shave, hair, makeup, the whole nine yards - takes a half an hour at the most.

However, in the 9 years I've been with this woman, I honestly don't think we've been on time for anything more than maybe a dozen times (including our wedding, but that's another story...and probably not what you're thinking ;)). The problem is, even though she can go from pj's and bed-head to "ready to go" in a half hour, it's the little stuff between that and the car that slows us down. Wallet? Keys? Diaper bag? Diapers in the diaper bag? Wipes? Bottle? *Head outside.* Wait, what about formula? *Back inside.* Awesome. *Get in the car.* Wait, will you go get my phone? *Walk calmly into the house while trying desperately not to curse under my breath.* You get the picture.

I once made the joke to her mother that my wife will be late to her own funeral. She heard me, didn't find it funny, and pointed out, "That's not possible because I'll just be laying there." To which I looked back to her mom and replied, "Now watch, the hearse will be half-way there and break down." Her mom shot Dr. Pepper out of her nose and over our balcony. My wife just stood there and gave me the dreaded "look." You married guys know what I'm talking about. :yes

I'm lucky she loves me, and I know it, so I can get away with little digs like that from time to time. :D

:lol. Yes married women know what you are talking about
