how tall is you

69.75 inches. theo could you post that in standard? as many americans dont know metric.

No offence meant to anybody, but I always find it amusing when someone calls the American system of weights and measurs "standard".

12 inches = 1 foot
3 feet = 1 yard
1760 yards = 1 mile
16 ounces = 1 pound
2000 pounds = 1 ton
8 fluid ounces = 1 pint
2 pints = 1 quart
4 quarts = 1 gallon

You never use the same number twice to get the next higher unit of measure. In the metric system however...

10 millimeters = 1 centimeter
10 centimeters = 1 decimeter
10 decimeters = 1 meter
10 meters = 1 decameter
10 decameters = 1 hectometer
10 hectometers = 1 kilometer

And the same prefixes work for volume and weight also. So...

10 millileters = 1 centileter
10 centileters = 1 decileter
10 decileters = 1 liter

10 milligrams = 1 centigram
10 milliliters = 1 centiliter

And so on.

And that concludes our lesson in the metric system for today. Now to answer your question.

There are 2.54 centimeters in one inch and 12 inches in a foot, so I'm...

175 / 2.54 = 68.897637795 inches

or

68.897637795 / 12 = 5.741469816 feet

To round that off and put it in more common terms, I'm 5' 8 14/16"

The American system is not standard in the scheme of things. The world has moved on from the Imperial standard of weights and measures to metric.

PS: Please, no one start a thread asking for our weight!

FIRST off i do understand the Metric system and can convert roughly.

i know them quite well the reason i ask is that some here werent taught that system.
or if they did they dont know how to convert on to another.

being army/ and national guard all distance ares in meters or kilometers but the vehicles use a english odometer.
so being the God(lol) of land nav i have to convert one kilometer to a mile(.6) when i want to travel.

and we also use degrees and mils(this is more accurant) when using a compass.

mils for arty and mortars and degrees when the regualar navigation is used

one mil is 60 degrees.

Some weren't taught the imperial system either :D

i dont for life of me understand why we american still use the imperial system still.

nasa doesnt. the military in part doesnt.
cars are starting in america(american made) to use more and more metric bolts and threads.

and also theres is a metric and standard rating of bolt hardness.

and also thread hardness such as

8x1.25 thread pattern

5/16x24
the upper is metric and a common lugbolt thread

I'm pretty happy with my height it's a very average size :) but it's still pretty good for me given that most MTF transsexuals end up begin like 6'5 or whatever.

Here in the UK we use a mix depending on which system we were taught.
We weigh people in Stone and ounces everything else in Grams and Kilos. Older generations use Pounds.
I use both systems for length and height interchangeably my height is 170ish Cm's

Umm...I haven't measured my height for years.

But just under 6 feet maybe; not sure.

For the posters of the female persuasion, the answer sometimes greatly differs according to whether they happen to be wearing any stilettos.

4' 11"

Happy enough with my (lack of) height. But, it can be frustrating because most things on the top shelves of groceries stores are just out of reach!

handy:

Sorry, I ought not to repeat myself, but like I mentioned in the last post, stilettos can help, maybe, if reaching for the top shelf... (My wife often waits for me to reach stuff that is high up.)

Isn't there a clause about this in the marriage vows? "To have and to hold, to love and to cherish, to open the jars, lift heavy things, and reach the high places..."

...and to give her flowers, stilettos and chocolates regularly, too..... :)
