how to get rid of bad habbits....

hi im 17 y.o
im still seeing porn....
i want to change so badly, but part of my heart still doesnt want it..
how to change my bad habbit?

Thx...

Habbits are all about repitition. One way is to replace a bad habbit with a good one. Also, accountability is key. If you find someone who can be accountable to it will be extremely helpful. I know these sound rather simple, but they really aren't.

Start with finding someone that can hold you accountable, and be completely honest with them when they ask how you are doing. Then find a hobby or some sort of good habbit that will help keep your mind off of the bad one.

And ultimately pray for God's guidance and strength in regard to this. God sometimes gives us trials that are bigger than we can handle just so we will call on Him to see us through.

first off, welcome to the forums.

Sigh, not to laugh but it reminds me not to long ago. Trust me, i was addicted to porn. Not where i paid money for it and all, but it became one of my daily activities. Like the person above me said, you need to replace it with something. And here is something that could help you, that helped me.

1. Lust is an evil thought. It may not seem like it in temporary, but think of the things your willing to do to sleep with that woman.

2. How much this has consumed your time, knowing you cant have her.

3. How many other men have slept with her before. Nothing for nothing, i'm a man of honor, and i wouldn't even disgrace my self with that. Not saying i'm better then anyone, but to me, that's just nasty.

Something to think about when you turn on your computer and decide to look at that. it's helped me alot.

this is a powerful addiction ...... your at a young age use your faith to overcome this. you can do this. :thumbsup we have to make the choice :pray

feel free to p.m me i have few things i can share with you:)

Brother you're not alone in this struggle. One thing that someone mentioned above that I completely agree with is open this up to others...and real people. Repent of this to a friend, hopefully religious, who will keep you accountable. We tend to keep these sins in the dark and that is why it's hard to come out of it.

Imagine yourself in a dark room...your eyes have adjusted, you're comfortable. The last thing you want to do in that situation is step out into the light and go through that painful adjustment to change. But that's what has to happen if you want to get over your issue.

Faith,

You are doing the right things by seeking help from someone. I was immersed in Pornography as a teen and into my early 20's. I always wanted to do overcome the temptation on my own and not seek anyone's help etc.

Men need to have other men that can keep them accountable, also to keep them on the right track with the Lord. Try to find someone that is a Believer as well, develop a friendship with them, and hold each other accountable.

Porn can't be overcome alone;your on the right track by seeking help. Let me know if I can help in anyway.

Read Proverbs 6 through 9. Also memorize Job 31:1,
1 Corinthians 1:13, and 2 Corinthians 10:5...
