how to love god unconditionally?

i am 22, and became a christian at age 16

but i would like to love god more, cuz i see that through his grace, he loves us soooooo much unconditionally - even when we dont deserve it!!!

to me that is one of the most amazing things!

so i started talking to him more, and improving things about my self!

my heart yearns to love him 100%!! but i know i am still at the stage that when things start too look crazy my heart also gets a little crazy!!

i just want to love god no matter what happens!!!

cuz honestly, im not that strong...

i'm not alright, im broken inside, broken inside! :help

but all i go through, it leads me to you, just leads me to you!!! :D

God does break us down to make us into what he wants. Without knowing your story more it is hard to say what is going on, but a general way to love God is to read His word and follow what it says. I would read the word more than I would listen to others talk about the word because God will give understanding to a true and obedient heart. Understanding doesn't come from Christianforums.net, but from God Himself. Nor does it come from Calvin or anyone else.

Align your priorities towards God and you will be loving Him.

The first response is great advise and I agree completely. And at the risk of sounding legalistic I'll go into a very personal and easily twisted area that, none the less, is important. One of the personal things you can do to publicly display your devotion, love and bonding with God is to modify your spelling of God. You have followed the recently developed ¨texting" habit of no caps. In the usage of English, it has always been the custom of using caps for a person's name to demonstrate respect.

Now, remember, this is a personal decision for only you to make but another consideration in the matter is to remember that a god is one of those cement or carved wood statues the orientals are so fond of worshiping and I prefer, on the personal level, never to place my LORD into that group. If you choose to study your Bible in the manor that I and a growing group of others today you will begin to appreciate what I have just attempted to express to you. I study my Bible for some period of time each day and before doing so I pray for God to teach me and He has never failed to do so.

The more we die to self the more we give place to God in all areas of our life to draw us closer to His love. We will have trials and tribulations in our life that will test our faith, and in this is where we find our unconditional love we have for God that He is no respecter of person and that our love for Him should not have conditions as we trust Him in all things and only wants His best for us.

As as survivor of rape i do not agree that god loves us all, i think he only picks a select few of us to cherish and makes the rest of us suffer no matter whether we deserve it.

I'm sorry you had to go through something so traumatic as rape as I once was date raped and it does leave you with all kinds of feelings and emotions. No God doesn't choose who to love or not love as he is no respecter of person and would that none should perish, but he also knows not everyone will come to his grace and repent of their evil ways even though grace is a free gift we can not earn or work for, but just accept it through the love God has for us.

You are running away from that throne of grace where you need to be running to it in your time of need. When you surrender all to God then all things of the past are forgiven and forgotten as God remembers our past no more when we repent and ask for forgiveness. I feel you need to seek God through his word and also seek out a Pastor or counselor that can help you deal with all your feelings so you can be set free from the torment you are going through as the torment that I went through. It's only Satan that wants to steal your joy by stealing any faith you might have or maybe you never have I do not know, but please give it to God as he will change anything in your life that needs changing if you would only believe.

I feel your pain and am blessed by your words. Capital "G" in God just for pure reverence sake. It is a name but is the name above all names and worthy of our efforts to hold him above others.

God loves all and so many who spend their lives suffering. Job, Joseph, 12 disciples, Paul (blind, shipwrecked, jailed). Who are we to expect splendor? Let God be God and love Him anyway. Phil 1:21 "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain" Wow, he knows that preaching the gospel brings suffering and the only way out is death, but goes on anyway with joy.

I love the Epistle to the Romans: shows the wonder of sinners being put on a right standing with God, despite the greatness of sin.
