I Am Done With Church

we have the same spirit the same anointing they had. the problem is US .YOUR 5 TOPICS LISTED is controversial in some Churches . Tongues healing miracles are not of the devil ..the body of Christ is a very complex body . were not all going to agree on the same thing.. our unity comes through Christ not denom..

The unity of the Spirit comes through maturity, that is to say, full stature son-ship.

The more transformed into His Image we are, the more we will have the mind of Christ formed within us.

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—

The more we have grown up into Him, the more we will walk in the unity of faith.

The problem is, the very people [gifting's] that have been called to bring about this spiritual maturity in the body of Christ, Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers... have been explained away by false teachers.

Even in some churches that don't try to explain these away, another problem that I witnessed in the church I left was that God indeed provided those who he called to the congregation for these type of ministries, but the secular minded leadership refused to allow them to work within their calling and instead only allowed them to do other tasks that they weren't really called to or gifted for. It seemed to be a control issue from what I could see. They felt they needed to be in control of "their" church and when some ministry need was needing someone to fulfill it, they wanted to be the ones who would decide who would fulfill it. Every time they went outside of their congregation to pick someone instead of utilizing the people God had already sent to them. And without exception, each of those people God sent to them ultimately got lead by God to other places to serve Him after being rejected by the leadership of this particular church. As a result (at least partially the result of this kind of attitude) that church is on it's death bed now. According to an ex-deacon's wife I ran into a the market the other day things are not going well for them at all.

We might understand that a LOT of so called church came from a hand me down control system that was used by governments to control and manipulate the masses of their civilians. To shut them up. To threaten them. To keep a lid on them. To put them in perpetual fear. I doubt what was handed down to us through these systems resembles the early church much at all. It morphed into things much more sinister. Any christian still has to deal with the flesh nature in any particular group of people or ourselves, but unfortunately in some forms of christianity this aspect of humanity is put on steroids.

A big part of why I don't do conventional church is at least 1/2 or more of the congregants are lying in wait, looking for an opportunity to drag you or some other denominational members to the precipice of hell for the slightest reasons. To me such people are detestable, even though I think they'll be saved anyway. If people want to practice that and call it faith, there are plenty of pews to go sit in. I am definitely SO NOT interested in taking on potential damnation in my heart to other believers over 3 or 4 words in the construct of some supposed higher intellectual theological pursuits in a statement of faith. But that IS what they do. It's sick and it does represent the absolute worst of the human heart.

Merry Christmas.

Here is a great thread you miss because your on ... Vacation.

First, lets get this straight, we need to fellowship together. The disconnect comes when the Pastor does not see or understand the Needs of the People.

My Pastor thinks you hate God if you don't like Watching your church on internet. I have the video to prove that statement. However, there are people at church who listening to a CD is not going to fix their screwed up lives, but they need someone that hears God to help them and love on them. Hence, after much putting away of flesh, the wife and I will continue to go to my now internet Church.

It's not about if you should go to church or not, its about doing what the Lord said do and not judging others.

It's also about trusting the Word and being able to discern by the Word when it's time to get out of a church, so you don't end up surrounded by FBI drinking poison. The Word is our Anchor, but not our excuse to not be where we are suppose to be.

I am back.

Mike.

Hi Mikey!

Welcome back Brother Mike. Warm regards to you and your family this holiday season.
Blessings Blake.

Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

I am not sure you can pinpoint a denomination by what is taught. My Word of Faith Church teaches a lot about obeying God, and changing through the power of the Holy Spirit. Strange I run into folks at my Church that claim we all get saved, and my internet Pastor is wrong harping on obedience all the time. I don't think you can please everyone, and you can over do certain topics at any Church. Nobody likes Joel Osteen's candy every service and folks get tired of being told to obey God in everything else you don't get blessed.

What I do know is that lots of us keep looking to be in that perfect environment, to be under the wings of someone who is great, when reality we have outgrown the need to stay in the nest and ought to be out doing what God said also, being the momma bird for others, and out of the nest. It's a shock many can't cope with. So they get upset when their growth out distance's their expectation from others. Not understanding nothing has really changed, but they have grown.

In other Words, if you don't like what direction Your Pastor is taking, or wish He would speak on other things, the reality could be YOUR suppose to be doing that and not expecting everyone else to do it for you. So you stay hooked, and do what God said do also. We are part of a body, not a one man band, and when we expect the one man band to feed us everything, then we get disappointed.

Hi Mikey!

Glory to God Rollo, hows it going!!!.

Mike.

i understand what your saying .but for any of the above to take place he must be in us . john 17 christ prayed for us
Jesus Prays for All Believers
19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
20 "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,
21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one:
23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
24 "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
25 "Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me.
26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them."
this is the key that starts what paul wrote . . but enough of that the o.p was about being done with Church and granted the things said about the smaller churches is true. i was pastor at one of them. suddenly they didnt like what i said which was all backed up by Bible . one in the Church suddenly started spreading poison when she didnt get her way in a meeting. the so called committee called me in i walked through the door .one of the Bro said its the will of the Church you resign. really where was the vote?
my point is i have seen many things in church i disagree with. my whole point is yes we need the Church the fellowship the encouragement .
the Church we attend at the moment has great people very giving in time of need . but some things to me are a waste. grate PASTOR FEEDS THE FLOCK which i need . i still suggest find a church attend it. you dont have to agree with every thing that goes on. as long as the pastor is in the Bible preaches the truth . feed off that a former pastor once said preaching is like eating Chicken . we eat the meat and throw the bones away .. to many get discouraged i do many times. i have to dig in with both heels just hang on. . i had a church in my home town as pastor they was trying grow. but one wasnt getting her way. yes another her. {. nothing against women in the church } i have seen deacons men do same thing.

each time i had dig in and hang on for dear life i wanted to give up. that is my story i have a responsibility to get my family to church. :thumbsup:amen
