It's probably not that big of deal for some and there are worse things to have to deal with, I know, but this is the first Christmas away from my family. My brothers and sisters went back for the day but I don't think I will ever go back there.

It's more difficult than I thought it would be, I realize it's all psychological but I'm having a hard time right now and just asking people to pray for strength and that I would keep busy today.

Thank you in advance.

Jesse it is a big deal .... Our families matter... Some folks are alone when surrounded by family ......Is there any way you could spend the day helping some one... serving food to the homeless... being a comfort to the old man in the park.... ETC. Ask your self that silly over worked question ... What would Jesus do?

Hi Jesse,

I don't know what you like or not, but I like to try and sing Hymns. I normally consider pain as God's megaphone to come to Him. If you can see how God's grace is given or being given, I imagine you will have a better day than most.

My wife's family and mine have both changed so much.........

But, we can't go back. Reach out to what "family" you do have. Even if they aren't related. As was mentioned... the old man or woman in the park. Kids with only partial families... whole hospitals and "homes" of forgotten people.... even jails,

Jesse my friend this must be difficult for you.My prayers are with you.

May God bless this day to you Brother Jesse. God is also faithful in allowing us to overcome the hurt in our lives and turning it into joy and peace. I think of Joseph being sold by his brethren as a slave as it were, and yet he made these statements in Gen 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

As God's child, look for God's purpose in all the hurt you've endured. Psa 30:5 . . weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Psa 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
Psa 37:24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

I pray for your thankfulness to be manifest to the one that really matters this Christmas day, and that it overcomes Him with glorious love. Our Father is so faithful in healing the hurt in our lives. Blessings in Christ Jesus. :)

I want to thank everyone for your prayers and encouraging words, they are all appreciated.

Instead of helping the homeless, serving the poor and all those wonderful things maybe I should have done, For the most part, it wasn't too bad of a day weather wise, so I went for a hike, it cleared my head and I was able to pray and seek God with no interruptions. I'm still wrapping my brain around all that I believe God showed me in my life and past, and when I get it put all together, I hope to share it here.

Thanks again and I hope God blessed your day as He did mine.

Prayers ascending for you, Jesse. Pax tecum (May peace be with you)

Families can sometimes present us with the best and the worst challenges in our lives, Jesse . Whether you decide to spend time with your family or no isn't what is of importance at this time .... it's that you pray for them.

My prayers are with you, my friend, as you rely on our Lord for strength and guidance, so you can be aig fois ann an Criost*.

(*at peace in Christ* - Scots Gaelic)

Praying that for you, this will be a time of healing, and of drawing closer to our Lord who will give you peace and wisdom to deal with whatever situation has caused you to be alone at this time.
