Hey All,
Please read this and I will comment on it afterwards:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Mark 12:28-31 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Four main points:
1. God loves you.
2. Love God back completely.
3. Love your neighbor.
4. Love yourself.
(That last one gets overlooked sometimes.) Because God loves us, we can love ourselves. And I don't mean in some vane way. Self love without God is worthless. But the love of God, through Christ's sacrifice on the cross, makes us worthy. God loves you. So love yourself.
Bring a believer is not for the weak of heart.
Matthew 5:11-12 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
It is hard to imagine parents treating their child this way. And truthfully we are only getting your perspective. Do you still live with them? Do they still provide for you? If so , they must care for you on some level. If so, I have to question if you are exaggerating your side DoaWK1992? What would be their justification? Why would a parent "hate" their child?
However, let's say, for whatever reason, they do. Try doing the opposite of their actions.
If they hate you, tell them you love them.
If they persecute you because you are a believer, rejoice and thank them for their guidance in your life. (Just to be clear, I mean verbal abuse. We are not talking about physical child abuse here, correct? If you are a child being abused physically, call the police. You can be protected against that. No child deserves that.) Show them that they are not just hating you but the Holy Spirit who is within you.
Lastly, sometimes life is tough. Sometimes, as believers, we just have to suck it up, take the abuse, and walk through the valley. If we are wearing the full armor of God, we'll make it through. It may not be fun, but we will make it. Plus, we show the love of God through it. Our hardship, and how we handle it, becomes our witness. I hope this helps. Keep walking everybody. May God bless,
Taz
