Our family spent the night in town last night.
When I got home this morning, I found the roof of our front porch laying on our back porch, across the back yard and into the pasture. Apparently quite the wind storm blew through while we were away.
It looks as though everything and everyone inside the house is OK. The cats were a little wild-eyed when I got home, and the snake, while curled up under his shavings, is alive and well. Some teapots that I had on a kitchen shelf got knocked around.
But, it looks as though there is some damage to the roof, and although the fireplace chimney looks OK, I'm not starting a fire until it gets inspected. Which, since we heat solely with the fireplace means it will be chilly for a while. I do have some space heaters going to keep it from getting too cold.
Anyway, if y'all can pray that we can get things repaired quickly and without too much hassle. As I was standing in the back yard assessing the damage, it started to spit snow, so the fast we can get things inspected and repaired the better.
I do praise God that no one was hurt!!!
Well, time to call the insurance company.
