Everyone talks about it, but I don't get it at all! To me, it seems like it's one-sided. Famous people use it to send messages out and down to the common people. I don't have any interest in the stars of pop-culture, so I'm not interested in what they have to say. I'm sure they have no interest in what I have to say.
The egos of celebrities who put such weight on everything they say in the media and on Twitter by all the minions who hang on their every word is too much for me. Their followers feed this monster, and then it's cyclical.
ego --> followers --> bigger ego --> more followers --> bigger ego...
I also hear all the time of people getting into trouble with things they tweet. I heard an interview with a school district administrator who said roughly 80% of all disciplinary actions are the result of posts on Facebook, and increasingly on Twitter (cyber-bullying, threats, fights)
If anyone here uses Twitter and finds value in it, I'm really curious how.
