He went supersonic !
It took over two hours for his ballon to get up there. He jumped, and in nine minutes, he was on the ground.
During much of the jump, his vision was compromised by a failed helmet heater - his face shield fogged up until he got into warmer air.
He also spun quite a bit at one point, but not enough to black out and not enough for emergency systems to deploy a chute.
