I was and still am talking about the people one works with or those one meets at your churches regular street outreach.

Where one cannot just stop responding, you are sitting across a desk from them, working as part of a team, meeting everyday and talking about sport. News and spiritual questions.

I misunderstood you. I thought you were talking about arguing with
atheists or the ungodly on the Internet. Since you're talking about
confrontations with atheists or the ungodly in Real World, I have
nothing to say about that because I don't know anything about
the ungodly people you are talking to.

They could be dangerous people? They could be psychopaths? They
could be the kinds of people that are stalkers? They might be the kind
that "holds grudges"? Only God fully knows about what they are.

What I am saying is not far-fetched. You see ungodly people daily
committing crimes against innocent people. We are living in violent
times and getting personally involved in confrontations with the people
you work with, or contact in street ministries, is an entirely different
thing than pecking away on keyboards on the Internet.

Fox News' Tucker Carlson had his home targeted by ungodly people.

A huge number of those people that were rioting, looting, burning
cars, burning buildings, and throwing objects at police, have jobs
and are "sitting across a deck" from other people.

In closing I will mention what you already know, namely as Christians
we have many Bible verses that provide us with guidance and much
comfort as we deal with the people of this world. I am sure you are
familiar with such Bible verses.

With regard to your concerns and issues:
May the Lord bless you in your work.
May the Lord keep you safe on the job.
May the Lord be gracious unto you in your street ministries.
May the Lord help you to find strength in His word the Bible.
May the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.
May the Lord protect you and all those you love.

Are all your neighbours church going Christians?
Or are your neighbours not church goers, but are very nice, helpful people?
Because they are the people I am talking about.

The devil's success stories are ordinary, decent people who are kind and generous but do not believe in Jesus.
They show the world that one does not need religion.

This is a underrated verse. Discipline, is a refining fire. It can put someone down or life someone up and help them become better. I must say that discipline is different to criticism.

There is Real World.
There is Thread World.

My Opening Post and follow up posts apply mostly to Thread World.

Most Forums have Terms Of Service {Rules} and the TOS in most
Forums prohibits ad hominem especially sustained severe ad hominem.
and Posters agree to abide by the TOS when they register --and so they
ought to do what they have agreed to do.

So?

So my Opening Post and follow-up posts make the point that I do not
agree with "Chris Christian" --- and that my OP's {1} through {6} is
not moral justification for using ad hominem as in calling people for
example "dogs" and "pigs" and "snakes" and "vipers" and "stupid" or
a "child of Hell" or worse names --- here inside Thread World on the
Internet At Large.

My OP and follow-up posts do not necessarily apply to situations in
Real World --- that said, it is also true that in most Real World situations
calling people , , , ,
~ dogs
~ pigs
~ snakes
~ vipers
~ stupid
~ and worse names , , ,
, , , will not make things better, rather worse.

For example, if one wanted to stop The Mob in Portland
and other major cities, if he took a megaphone and begin
to address The Mob and called them dogs, pigs, snakes,
vipers, and any other ad hominem name calling that
came to mind --- my view is that The Mob would only become
more enraged and more irrational and would intensify their
already-high levels of hatred.

One-on-one-eyeball-to-eyeball ad hominem name calling is
not an effective weapon to wage successful Military War or
Political War anyway. So its a waste of time and effort and
should be avoided.

i do not have a pacifist bone in my body.

I have nothing against morally justified Military War and Political War.
Political War has raged in American Politics as long as America has existed.
Political War and Military War has always raged worldwide and history-wide.

I have nothing against the Principle Of War ---which is Military Force
and Political Force. America won WW 2 with both Military Force
and Political Force. Good.

One of my favorite people is one of America's WW 2 hero's General George Patton.

So I have nothing against morally justified Political War and Military War,
but calling your military enemies and your political enemies ugly names
is not an effective method to wage either one.
