I PRAY FOR THEM: I PRAY NOT FOR THE WORLD

This prayer is indeed special, it is for and about only those who are His sheep.

Well said:) and arn't all he died for his sheep? I am the good shepard: the good shepard giveth his life for the sheep? John 10:11
I guess this means that only the 12 disciples were the elect and destined to be saved.

Only 12 people? There is a vast number of people over time who are his. God loves me and you as much as he loved Peter, Paul and John and we all get the same Salvation..........Eternal life with our God and creator

Your original post -

And in this context speaking of theses men given him by God the Father, Jesus Says, so Plainly " I pray for them: I pray NOT FOR THE WORLD but for them which thou hast given me.

Jesus Prayed for those given him, not for the whole world. ................This is what the scriptures say?
By saying "these men" who are you referring to ?

These men here seems to indicated you are referring to the 12 that Jesus prayed for, and all the rest are considered the "world".

Please explain who these men are that you refer to, that the scripture plainly mentions.

John 17

verse 6 ............"the men which thou(the father) gavest me out out of this world.
Verse 8.............."For I gave unto them.............."
Verse 9................" I pray for them...................

These are the ones the father gave the son
Christ is glorified in them.....................Verse 10
None of them are lost........................verse 12
the world hath hated them because they are not of this world............Verse 14
I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world...................verse 15
Sactify them through thy truth.........................................................Verse 16
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word.......verse 20

These verses refer to all the men which the father gave to Christ
God the father Choose the men he would give to his son before he made the world.
Christ came and redemned all those given him.
He (Christ) paid the price in blood for them. Christ is glorified in them...Verse 10
And He prayed for them. Not only for the 12 but for all that were given to him by the father and would hear the word......Verse 20

I hope all here today hears his words and belong to him..............The only way.............Jesus Christ the Lord

So you can be a doer of the Law

I am glad I am not under the curse of the Law. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law............Galatians 3:13
We are under grace...............Romans 6:14
Should we keep the Law.............Absolutly. Will we fail...............Absolutly. Can keeping the law make you acceptable to God...NO. Only Christ can do that, HE kept the Law perfectly for us and in the spirit we also keep it. but in the flesh.............No way. We rest in him. We SHOULD keep the Law perfectly but we do not because we are all sinners. "O wretched man that I am. Who shall deliver me from thev body of this death? Romans 7:24

Amen, Josefnospam, keep up the good work and your post are indeed a real blessing.

In this instance, yes. This is part of the great priestly prayer that Jesus prayed for His disciples and believers just as He was about to be taken away and put to death. This prayer is indeed special, it is for and about only those who are His sheep.

Context is important though... we shouldn't take away from this passage that Jesus didn't care nor ever prayed for unbelievers or the world. As a matter of fact, a few hours later, when He was hanging on the cross, He prayed for the unbelievers who were mocking and rejecting Him ""Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." Luke 23:24

It's also good to remember that Jesus commands us to pray for unbelievers and those who mock or spitefully use us. "But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you..." Matthew 5:44
@handy :

I love John 17.

It's good also to have the heart of an evangelist.

Blessings.
