I think way back in the time of the conquistadors my ancestor a humble man was tortured by a priest for being unholy this was really unfair . So I believe through him I lash out in pain and suffering at Jesus Christ. To be tortured for not being a Christian is abysmal.

I want to know given that my divestiture was tortured for not being Christian is it still possible to worship Jesus Christ?

Yes. I would certainly think so. Not everything that Christians do equates to what the Lord Himself would do, and you have to be careful for assuming that. And as for the Lord Himself, sometimes He actually can be stern, for scripture says He disciplines those He loves. But it also says it's for our benefit.

Blessings, and hope you work through your struggles.

Hello Warrior8080, the idea of a Christian torturing someone for not being a Christian is something that is far more than simply being "unfair", it should NEVER happen (it was indeed a different time, but I don't buy for a second that priests, who did such things back then, did so out of "love" to "save" people).

That said, just because someone CLAIMS to be a Christian (be they part of the laity ~or~ the clergy) is hardly proof that that is what they truly are! The visible church has always been/always will be loaded with CINO (Christians In Name Only) who are placed there by their father/our common enemy .. e.g. Matthew 7:22-23, Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43).

That all said (and whether the priest who tortured your ancestor was/was not a Christian), why do you hold the Lord Jesus Christ accountable for his actions? Do you believe that He caused/forced the priest to do what he did, or perhaps that He should have stepped in and stopped it from happening? Granted, He had/has the power to do both, but it seems to me that the former would make Him a monster (instead of our holy, righteous, loving Savior), and the latter would make us into His puppets, w/o free will.

One thing that I do know is this, that the Lord Jesus decided to come here and save us, even though He knew, from eternity past, that doing so would mean that He would be brutely beaten and die in the horrible way that He did, but He chose to do so anyway, so that He wouldn't have to live w/o us in the eternity to come, nor we w/o Him :)

God bless you!!

Romans 5
8 God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

I am embarrassed, as well, God itself visit its humans on the earth and what do we do
I can just imagine father watching from Heaven
Sometimes I feel we are doomed and deserve everything bad that's happening and that we bring destruction as our primal instinct

As a Christian would never torture anyone, that torturer was not a Christian.
If you want to lash out, lash out at posers that sully the name of Christ.
Do it with a life of obedience to God.
That makes the posers quiver.

Why are you taking up an offense for an ancient ancestor? The Conquistadors are long gone. So is your ancestor.

If someone you knew began to go about abusing people, saying "I am a priest of Warrior8060 and I will torture you in his name," would it be your fault that this person was doing so? Of course not.

I recall that the Aztecs and Incans harvested people from various other tribes and murdered them in pagan sacrifice rituals by the tens of thousands. Do you feel the same sense of unfairness regarding these ancient pagan religions and their vile gods who may well have killed some of your other ancestors?

Well, would people abused by some neighbor of yours in your name, without your knowledge or approval, be able to be your friend? Would it be wrong for them to be your friend because of what this other person did to them in your name, though you had nothing to do with it? Of course not.

I think you misunderstand what was happening back then.

Christians were tortured for not being Catholic.

Your relative was tortured for not being Catholic.

Christians don’t torture people.

If a Christian even hates someone then they no longer have eternal life remaining in them.

Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15

It would help us all if you could explain or expound on what you mean about the conquistadors torturing your ancestor?
Are you of Mexican or South American desent?
What do you mean by ' divestiture ' it literally means getting rid of assets.
Or are you of Moorish decent and your ancestors were ' Morisco '?

As others have said your relationship with Jesus is between him and you, your family or ancestors have nothing to do with your becoming a Christian.
