Things can get so hectic at times and seem so unfair. But it just shows that anything is possible, we just have to believe. Where I go wrong at times is that I believe in God and know that good things happens, I just don't think it would happen to me.

Maybe there is some measure of hope, however small it may be, in our own lives that we need to cling to like he did.

I was wondering if they now teach caregivers that unresponsive people aren't necessarily out to lunch. Maybe that would teach creepy caregivers to never assume they can get away with abusing patients.

When my mom was in hospice she was in and out of consciousness. I already knew that's it's possible that she could still be conscious of what was going on in the room when it appeared that she was out of it, but what convinced me was when she would suddenly pop right out of it and respond to conversation in the room. And it's funny that one of those times was when we were debating what to leave on the television set.

I agree about the creeps, they may at least think twice.
I also think that caregivers would be less likely to give up on the patient and be more attentive to small signs like the nurse in this article. It was because of her paying attention that he got the care he really needed.
