If Christ were here

What do cultures look like that believe this? That’s the litmus test.
In the past, Christian cultures suppressed science and burned "witches." Here is what Magellan had to say:

"The church says the earth is flat, but I know that it is round, for I have seen its shadow on the moon [lunar eclipse], and I have more faith in a shadow than the church."

That all changed, but not with Christianity - rather, with enlightenment values and eventually modern humanism.

Nonsense. Christianity is the reason science blossomed in the west and no where else. He’s confusing the christians with the catholics.

The Catholics, for example, opposed the round earth because they believed aristotle.

Nonsense, again, Aristotle ruled science, hardly a christian, and to question Aristotle was to question the catholic teaching.

The enlightenment resulted in the Reign of Terror where thousands of peasants were beheaded because of their thinking, Ultimately the outcome was a tyrant. The enlightenment could not have ended up any other way as human life was not valued. Christianity brought freedom such as saw in England because all humans were equally valuable,

Edward Here: https://nypost.com/2020/01/14/chica...g-from-food-program-to-buy-himself-a-bentley/

This man stole nearly a million dollars from a food program for needy children, and bought a Bentley that cost nearly $150,000.

I don't really see your point? Ok it does happen, but what is that to you?

The moral of the story seems to be, I don't have to lie to get a job and I don't have to steal to get ahead.

Sounds like they caught the guy. So...crime doesn't pay one more time lol.

That's one of the nuttiest things I've ever read.

Is that supposed to be some kind of proof of something? You can't honorably throw one blanket over both types of Christianity in the world. The Psuedo-Christians who are all about money, and the real Christians who are all about relatonship with Jesus..they just don't live in the same tent. The church is changing with a new dynamic. It's a spiritual change, so you prolly don't see it. But there's big things going on in the world right now.

But yeah, there psuedo christians and real ones. Just like anything else.

Umm... You're the one who asked for the specific story. So I gave it. Also we don't know how often it does or does not pay since we only know of the cases that were caught.

Oh I know but I was kind of refering to your first post.

Christian leaders are caught in sex scandals, or rob charity money and spend it on expensive cars..../

And you seem to ramble on like all Christians are the same and liars & crooks. So it made me curious what your original point is? That all Christians are bad? Or have I missed your point?

My point is, that there is a very real and supernatural side to Christianity that you know nothing about because you don't know Jesus.

I asked for the guys name cuz I went to one of the churches that had a mega scandel and wondered if you was talking about him. You weren't.

No, my point is that we can and should do better.
