If Heaven Didn't Exist

Sorry, I can't quite agree with you on this one. If God didn't exist then the theory of evolution would be correct. However I just don't have that much faith to be an atheist. I believe that science and Christianity can coexist, but saying that everything in the universe came from nothing sounds like something a drunk person would say. :lol Sorry, I don't mean to offend our unbelievers on here but it really does sound ludicrous. :rolleyes

Theories are nothing more than ones speculations as there are not facts contained in them.

Let me ask you a question. Scripture says that God created everything out of nothing just by speaking it to be. Do you believe this and if you do then why do you believe it?

Just because something sounds like a drunk person would say it is because they are only thinking with a carnal mind. It takes faith and a Spiritual mind to understand and believe the things of God.

And no ice cream, the horror of it all :eek2

LOL!! What!? :lol

Let me rephrase that because you and Nathan12 seem to be confused. I meant that what sounds ludicrous is that nothing created everything, not God created everything out of nothing.

Although I agree it sounds completely insane (especially the fact that nobody else has our fingerprint as it is absolutely one hundred percent original) but if there was no God then who or what could have made the universe? Santa Claus?

Nothing or no one as only God is infinite in all His power. We will also see this power when He renews the heaven and earth after the old heaven and earth has passed away as we will see the New Jerusalem ushered down from heaven, Rev 21:1, 2. God is Alpha and Omega, The beginning of our salvation and the end of our salvation.

Never mind! :wall I was just basically saying that I don't get the way atheists think.

The thing is that questions like you asked in the OP can lead unbelievers further away from seeking God as it puts foolish thoughts in their minds.

Certain what if questions should never be asked of a child of God when they have the truth inside them. We are to be preaching the Gospel of God's grace, not asking foolish questions that can cause some to stumble.

You know I say this in love, OK.

Alright here's the thing, I will not apologize for asking a legitimate question,.. but I will apologize if it caused any trouble and confusion for any unbelievers on here and since you are part of the staff now and you find it necessary to close it you may since it's a Christian forum and maybe it wasn't the right place to ask it. :sorry

Atheists like any unbeliever only reject there is a God because they do not want to give up their sinful lives. This is how they think.

I think that is one reason but I do believe another is that they have problems in believing in something that they can't see or touch. I myself have problems with that sometimes,.. but I learned that having doubts and having unbelief are two different things.

No need to close it or apologize as you did ask a legit question in the OP, but in turn it took a different direction. It just strikes a cord with me when a Christian would even go as far as asking such a question as it can plant doubt in a non believer as doubt is a sin of unbelief. If I doubt there is a God then I am not going to believe there is. You either believe or you don't, that's all I mean.

Actually I disagree. I believe there is a God even though I doubt sometimes because what I believe in my head and what I believe in my heart don't always agree.

Here is what Paul taught about the carnal mind.

Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
