If You Were To...

Anyone can join my church. I'm more than happy to email a godly message once a week in exchange for 10% tithe.
But in my denomination (Jethro's denomination) we are in a year when the people of God are to eat their our own tithe, so I guess you'll have to wait.

What programs and classes interest people the most?
Food and money.
Have dinners, and teach how godliness is a means to riches and you'll pack the pews out.

Now don't get me wrong. I'm not against the former. :lol

For the small tithe of 100 a week.I will tell you who to vote for and fellowship.
If I made enough to tithe 100 a week I'D DO IT. :lol

Yeah, yeah I know......just give anyway and you'll be making $1000.00 a week in no time.

O good grief I will rewrite my post

Goodness By using the word church in a Christian forum i had hoped the meaning was understood to be a Christ centered Church.. Just as we are one body we are not all the toes or elbows.. Some are the feet some the hands. Having Christ centered Churches that have a slightly different appeal to the different functions of the Body seems to right to me..
Not sure what part of the body I am, sometimes I think I'm the ass:lol

There are different churches as such. My father in law loves Jesus deeply. He was part of our church when it first formed was evangelical and and new leader was appointed and lead it down the charismatic route which is the basis of the church today, more a a church that wants to be like like New Testament church.

He was one of the few who stayed. He became quite prominent and was a confidant to the elders, a gifting he suddenly found. He is still in the church 40 years later. He sighs at worship because he loves the old hymnal songs but loves the teaching and it's focus on Christ.

I think most people will find something wrong in their church and some are willing to balance one thing off against the other.

The leader who moved the church form traditional evangelical to charismatic did say when he started to change direction "This is the way that I feel God has asked me to move the church, I realise that some of you will not like it or feel comfortable. If you don't think you can be a part of it please find somewhere that you can settle in, make sure it's Christ focused. Please come and speak to me if you feel this way and let's see if we can find a church for you"

Sad fact and this is true. He got hate mail. I have seen a letter sent to him, it had a picture of a monkey with a bible in its hand and underneath was written "you are a baboon that is monkeying around with the word of God"

Anyway as long as the church is Christ focused, preaches Christ, the grace of God that's what counts, whether it be with the old hymnal or modern day worship. What's more important is that the person must feel part of the body and work as part of the body.

Enough said from this ass:lol

Going to take. different bent on this.

I must admit I am sat here chuckling a little bit and sighing a little bit.

Let's be honest CFNET is a church albeit it a virtual church. Many people. People who are not beleivers and people who are. Those who are not beleivers do not disagree with each other as beleivers do, why would they because they agree to agree yet beleivers can't agree to disagree and try to impose doctrines that they beleive over other beleivers.

Would I recommend our virtual church to others? Would you?

Anyway why would I invite people to my church.

It's Christ focused, accepting, loving and it reaches out to people. It accepts nutters just like me. The focus is on Jesus accepting people where they are with a view to teaching them how to become more like Jesus by accepting him and wanting to be like him.

I'm curious if their definition of 'charismatic' is similar to mine. How does one define a charismatic church? What specifically makes a church charismatic?

more a a church that wants to be like like New Testament church.
What does that involve? How do we make our churches more like New Testament churches?

I'm debating the issue. I'm just curious to see what you and others think composes a charismatic/ New Testament church. I can tell you what it meant in the 80's.

I'm not sure how I would define charismatic. Our church beleive that the gifts that the early church had is still relevant today, so we are not cessationalists. There will be tongues, words of knowledge. We do pray for healing.

Whilst we still beleive that signs and wonders are as relevant to today's church as it was to the early church this is not the focus and it does not negate the desire to see the fruit of the Spirit being manifest in people's lives our focus is Jesus.

I'm of the never Trump church.lol

My church has a different focus then most churches.
Its focus is not to entertain you, but rather to stimulate you to go and do something for God with the rest of your life.
We dont spend a lot of time teaching you to feel good about yourself, but rather we show you why you should love God with all your heart and do all you can for Him before you die and meet Him.
My church supports over 200 International missionaries, @$200 a week.....and many of which were called from my church, but not all.
There are over 150 brick and mortar "churches" that have Pastors in them, worldwide, who were called from my Church.
So, while the praise and worship is anointed and lively, its the preaching and the teaching you find there that is so Blood Atonement and Cross >centered< and so very Honoring to Jesus, that will cause you to become so inspired to invest your life in God's work.

Not meaning to be nosy but are you involved with the "emergent" church or the "Acts 29" groups? I only ask that because the doctrines you promote sound identical to these groups.

Does the Blood Atonement and Cross teaching in your Church, even though that is very important part, ever move past the cross to teaching discipleship and servitude? Not mocking your Church by any means, just asking.

Should I go to a mortar and brick Church because I am told to do so by others so I do not forsake the assembling or is the assembling of Gods true Church the body of Christ with more members than any literal building could ever think of holding. My Church (gathering) is outside the four walls of false doctrines as we gather together from the four corners of the world having a high priest over us as we share the Gospel with the world lifting up and edifying one another as through us allowing the light of Christ shine through us that Christ will draw others to Gods grace.

Hebrews 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21 And having an high priest over the house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Why not, after all you will find the same in any Church being virtual or and actual building..............just let love have its perfect way as we are to be following Christ, not man.

I define charismatic as over indulging in something that gives you pleasure, but yet only a temporary emotional feeling of joy, but yet leaves you empty inside when the emotional part fades away.
