Hi everyone!

Before I waste anyone's time...

Do u think my dad is destined for hell for raising me?
Do u this u think I am a bad person for being a woman with a career instead of finding a husband so I can be a house wife? Do u this u think that women have a place in the home and not in a career?
Do u believe men are superior to women and the woman must submit to the man? Women r not equal. Women have different roles they must stick to including making sure her husband is satisfied?

I got pushed away from Christians and solely worshipped in silence after being toldd my dad was going to hell for raising me and I wasn't a true Christian because I had a career instead of being married and taking orders from a husband like God made me to be.

So if that is ur belief ....please tell me now so I'm not pushed away from God. Thanks!

I'll keep it brief here and encourage you to put this out in one of the forums, "General" or "Theology". You'll get much more of a response there. I'm quite sure a woman can work, never marry and be a beautiful Christian. Women need not submit themselves to men, but a husband and wife should honor each other. Scripture says a woman needs to submit to her husband, but it's taken out of context when it is used to position women as inferior.

As far as your father, a person's faith is the only thing that impacts his salvation. This is between him and God and doesn't include anyone else.

Much more could be said in a dedicated discussion on it.

I'm not sure about the teaching these Christians are saying to you.

Rather than worry about what people have to say, read what the Scriptures have to say regarding women.

Acts 16:13-15 On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there. One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message. When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. "If you consider me a believer in the Lord," she said, "come and stay at my house." And she persuaded us.

Lydia was a woman who had a business, she owned her own home and the Lord used her to establish the first church in Europe. So, yes, a woman can most certainly have a career rather than a husband.

Are women not equal to men? Not according to what Paul wrote to the Galatians!

Galatians 3:28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Yes, in marriage, a wife is to submit to her husband. But, in general women are not commanded to submit to men. An unmarried woman is more free to serve God such as Phoebe did:


Romans 16:1-2I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea; that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself has also been a helper of many, and of myself as well.

I hope these texts from God's word can help you counter the teachings that you have been receiving.

Most certainly your father is not going to go to hell for raising you!

May I ask if you go to church here in America?

Although the question was different, the Scripture that my friends quoted applies to some of your questions. I think it is a little pointless for me to answer any of your questions because you already know the answers to all of them, don't you Sweetheart?. :) Just remember - Jesus loved you so much that he died for you.
 
Thank you everyone for your replies! I do go to church in the US. OR I did...I had a hard time hanging on to such a hateful God they had created. I got strong in God again, but fear I will turn as soon as I attend churches again.

Since u people see my dad as NOT evil for raising me and me as an equal ...I will post on here and hope to befriend followers of Christ.

I was raised in a family who did not follow God. I became a follower around 4. My dad became a follower when I was 17. My mom still is not, but maybe someday.
