It is not how Jesus perceives me but how others perveive me.I think it is important how others see us since we are Christians.

There is no sin in being concerned with what others think of us...

Personally, I think our preoccupation with what people think of us is a natural criminal justice system...

At the end of the day, Jesus already knows who we are - no perspective needed.... he knows our heart.

It seems that many "christians" today dictate how God should perceive them...well, I'm sure a monk thinks that God should perceive him well...after all, that monk dedicated his life to seclusion in some mountain in prayer to God...personally, I think that is selfish - but does my perception really matter...no

All I know is that I FEEL it would be selfish for me to isolate myself - It's too simple of a life. I don't even need Proverbs 18 to tell me that...well, no...actually I do.

Do you think that we should ask God to search our hearts and make us aware of what He does not want there?How do you think most people would react to that?

King David thought so.

Psa 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: (24) And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

I think whether we ask God to search our hearts or not He does it anyway. Romans 8 tells us we are being changed.

Rom 8:27-29 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (28) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (29) For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

I know some Christians don't like the idea of self examination because it implies self righteousness nor God examination because it implies displeasure. I disagree.
