INTELLECTUAL IDIOTS (MANS SYSTEM OF BELIEF)
2 Cor 11:3
3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
Matt 11:25
25 At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.
John 6:61
61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, "Does this offend you?
Matt 11:6
6 "And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me."
Matt 12:37
37 "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
Matt 18:3
3 and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Col 2:8
8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
John 5:38-39
38 "But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe.
39 "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.
John 3:34
34 "For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.
1 Tim 6:3-4
3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness,
4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions,
Rom 16:18
18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.
Matt 23:24
24 "Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!
Matt 13:14-15
14 "And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: 'Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, and seeing you will see and not perceive;
15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them.'
Rom 3:18
18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes."
Luke 1:50
50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.
1 Cor 1:26
26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.
Rom 11:25
25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.
Rom 12:16
16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
Heb 4:12-13
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
2 Pet 2:18-19
18 For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error.
19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage.
1 Cor 2:1-14
1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God.
2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.
4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
6 However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,
8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him."
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
13 These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
John 9:39
39 And Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind."
Rom 11:8
8 Just as it is written: "God has given them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear, to this very day."
Luke 16:8
8 "So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light.

xxChristians are going to lose lots of arguements to intellectuals. This is how they are separated, the sheep from the goats. But those who have lots of human wisdom also have lots of deception. Because to come to the Holy Spirit it is required to purge the carnal wisdom and have faith in the verses. Because the intellect is of the flesh and human wisdom. But faith is of the verses and strength to endure the humiliation by the intellectuals. An intellectual has to be right at all cost, and their arguement will waver back and forth until they feel they have won. But remember God has made foolish the wisdom of man. He who is from God speaks the Words of God(verses). Man is glorified on earth, but Christians will be glorified in the resurrection.

Heb 12:3
3 For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

RATIONAL MIND
Mark 2:6-8
6 And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,
7 "Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
8 But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, "Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?
Luke 5:21-22
21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and said to them, "Why are you reasoning in your hearts?
(NKJ)

xxThe one big problem with the rational mind(reasoning out things) is that they assume that they know the truth about everything already. So they start out in their thinking with the assumption that they can know. But what does the Word of God say: unless you become as a little child, you will by no means enter the kingdom of God. And a little child just believes everything you tell them. Well that is what the Word of God says, just believe what the Word tells you. In reality the Word is saying believe it first and then God will open your understanding. But the rational mind says dont believe nothing until you have good reason behind it. This is the difference between accepting it on faith, and reasoning it out according to mans wisdom. The Word accually says to first repent then believe in the gospel. It doesnt say reason it out until it says what you want it to. To many have a pre-conceived idea planted by some man before they open the bible. Then they search to find something that supports their already pre-conceived idea.

Mark 1:15
15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."
(NKJ)

1 Cor 14:23
23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
(KJV)

2399 idiotes (id-ee-o'-tace);

from 2398; a private person, i.e. (by implication) an ignoramus (compare "idiot"):

KJV-- ignorant, rude, unlearned.

Hi there!

Just a couple of notes about your statement.

The intellect is a part of the soul, not the flesh, the "inner man" not the "outer man" in both Greek and in Hebrew.

The word "idiotes" is used to describe Peter and John in Acts 4:13; yet it is used to describe "unbelievers" in other passages. Perhaps man's belief system finds both the believer and the unbeliever to be idiots?

Your On The Right Track

Well close. Your inner man is made up of your spirit and soul. Your spirit is the mind of your inner man. Your soul is the body of your inner man. Affections come from your soul, your spirit is where you decide which thoughts to follow. Now your outer person is where everything else lives. Your guardian angel, the Holy Spirit, the devil and satan your emotions(unclean spirits).. All these enfluences are what you have to choose from. And your held responsible for your choises.

I'm sorry, we need to come to an understanding.

I'm taking the Greek and Hebrew text interpretation over your progressive revelation.

Thanks for sharing, but this posting tells me that you are bringing a gospel message which is not aligning with the text of the Bible in the language it was written.

????? ......and you learned this all from where???

Vice

learned this all from the revelations of Jesus Christ that Paul spoke of. I have received over 1500 of these revelations over the past 15 years. I went through the three years of the milk and the eleven years of the meat and I came to the revelations of Jesus Christ. And as with Paul I didnt start preaching this until I came to the revelations.

Gal 1:18-19
18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and remained with him fifteen days.
19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord's brother.
(NKJ)

Gal 2:1-2
1 Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me.
2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means I might run, or had run, in vain.
(NKJ)

I hope you understand the milk is a time for reading. The meat is a time for crucifying all your emotions and feelings. And born again and teaching only comes after one has received the revelations of Jesus Christ that Paul spoke of.

Gal 1:18-19
18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and remained with him fifteen days.
19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord's brother.
(NKJ)

Gal 2:1-3

1 Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me.
2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means I might run, or had run, in vain.
3 Yet not even Titus who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.

SB,

And born again and teaching only comes after one has received the revelations of Jesus Christ that Paul spoke of.

"Born again" means that one has accepted the gospel and is saved.

The 3 and 14 year time periods that Paul mentions are just to put into context his receiving of the revelation of the gospel which he preached. These time periods are by no means a timeline which is to be followed by any other believer. They simply describe Paul's journey after Christ revealed himself to him.

Free you said
"Born again" means that one has accepted the gospel and is saved.

I said
Only to you it means that. Maybe that is why you dont understand. Do you think that saved and salvation are the same?

SB,

I'll be more specific. The term "born again" is used to speak of someone who has accepted Christ because that is the point at which the Holy Spirit begins the process of regeneration. This is the point at which one can be said to be "born again," which is why many equate it with being saved.

Do you think that saved and salvation are the same?

Yup, pretty much.

I said
Many equate, huh not you? Its wrong anyway.

SB,

Many equate, huh not you? Its wrong anyway.

No, no, I do. I'm pretty sure it is right. Do you have any particular reason for saying it is wrong? Any Scripture?

Hello et. al....

Salvation is a process... being saved is one part of the process, but salvation is not limited to being saved, but include all of our spiritual walk.

Baptism is a part of the salvation process as is a public profession of faith. Spiritual growth is a part of the process as is growing in wisdom of God's Word.

There's a lot to the salvation process, but no where do I remember that anything to do with salvation includes progressive corporate revelation.

If one has been given 1500 individual progressive revelations, then one has been given 1500 individual revelations... that doesn't mean that there is a change in corporate teachings of the church, the body of believers.

~thanks~

you said
. I'm pretty sure it is right.

I said
pretty sure, means you hold your doubts anyway. You also plant doubts in the minds of any readers.

Matt 14:31-32
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"
32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
(NKJ)

Serapha very good your on the right track.
Saved is temporary, salvation is eternal. Saved is what we need temporarily while we work out our salvation with fear and trembling. You can be saved and still not have salvation.

Jude 1:5
5 But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
(NKJ)

Phil 2:12
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

Only an intellectual idiot believes they can explain the Word without useing the Word to do it. But remember if they cant quote it they do not have the Word abiding in them.

John 5:38-42
38 "But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe.
39 "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.
40 "But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.
41 "I do not receive honor from men.
42 "But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.
(NKJ)

SB,

Only an intellectual idiot believes they can explain the Word without useing the Word to do it. But remember if they cant quote it they do not have the Word abiding in them.

Then why can't you answer FG's points in the other thread? He used the Word to make his points yet you dismiss his points without using the Word. :-?

Free why dont you tell me if your woman or a man. That would explain why you dont understand my answers. I am a 57 year old man.

Why not answer the contradiction I just pointed out?

I am a 57 year old man.

Are you suggesting that a woman wouldn't understand what you are saying? I understand everything you have said, it just doesn't make sense.

you said
Are you suggesting that a woman wouldn't understand what you are saying? I understand everything you have said, it just doesn't make sense.

I said
That sounds like you are a woman. You couldnt answer my other questions and now you cant answer this one. Women have always had more questions than they had answers.
