Interaction with Comunist countries

I know the US has made a big deal with trying to stomp out communism and defeat it, but something I noticed then imediately started laughing. The US needs communism. Not, for its home front, but for us to live like we do.

Durring the Cold war, we had a technology war with Russia, where we made massive jumps in both space exploration, nuclear technology and usage for practical uses, and we managed to bond together against a "threat". Its in quotes because the USSR never actually attacked us and the Cold war never actually became a war.

Then there was the embargo with Cuba where We became united again in the efforts from letting Castro's dictarship force us to bow down.

But today, every thing we practicly use and work with is made in the biggest Communist country ever. The peoples Republic of China. A country that has such low standards for its people, manufacturing is cheap and costs next to nothing. The massive workforce and impoverished nation gives us such a means to manufacture and function that the idea of stomping out communism is actually laughable.

If we stomp out comunism, we loose our cheap manufacturing and technology. Isn't it quite funny that the very enemy we want to destroy, is the same reason we exist in such a state today that we can pick up a computer for under 500 dollars and complain about how our government is treating us?

Think about that for a few moments and realise that its not our government, but the greed of those who want money and send their work over to China, that are really the problem.

what really disgusts me is that, knowing what I know about China, I practically live at Walmart even tho they are probably the biggest importer from China in the world of all that wonderful junk we buy.
I dont know how I live with myself. :sad

And I work for that Monster, but them alongside Target, k-mart, costco, etc. aren't only to blame, its also the supplying companies that do the magoroity of their manufacturing over seas.

The bigger problem is, if we stop manufacturing over there and manufacture here, the prices will sky rocket. The massive influx of Jobs will help a little, but it would take probably around 50 years just to get back to where we are now, and our ecconomy can't handle that right now. Though, bankrupting China might help us a little.

Chinas freaking me out a bit because they own so much of our federal debt they may end up bankrupting US soon enough.

I always joke with the wife when we're at the store...I'll pick up something and make a comment like "what a waste of natural resources" because of the oil used in the plastics for junk products that break in a month as theyre designed to do so you have to go buy another one (dont get me started on that one :lol

But think about it....like youre saying as well....we DEPEND on all that worthless junk that breaks down because if it didnt theyd make most things once and that would be it.
People wouldnt be able to have jobs cranking out the junk so we could buy it....again..and again...and again.
I cant tell you how many can openers Ive bought in the last decade. Hand helds, electric...it doesnt matter. The junk lasts for a while and then breaks.
Im not joking at all....the last electric can opener I bought worked ONCE and then stopped working :lol
I got ONE can opened for my $20 and that was it.
I was so burnt about it I didnt even take it back. Its still sitting on the back of our stove as a reminder :D

But if they made eternal can openers, I wonder how long before the can opener makers would have everyone in one that would last and have to lay employees off until they had more demand ?

And the oil thing kills me.
We want to conserve but if we do all that stuff that oil makes isnt being made any more and we start laying off and our economy collapses.
Its just one big vicious cycle....

.

As sad as it all is, I agree with you Lance. We need countries like China, and the former Soviet Union back then.

It's a terrible predicament, and it shows how broken this world is.

I have felt that way since the fall. I am a cold war era enlistee.

That was started with the passing of Nafta something the unions never backed. We have put ourselves here, both parties are to blame and also most surely big bussiness. We arent alone, wally world is in a lot countries.

I am not against communism. I may not believe in it but I do not see it as evil.
I don't think communism in itself is evil either. The only thing that bothers me is that its evil to manipulate thanks to the eradication of the state or the midle changing period between state and no state.
