Interest in a general Q&A

Anyone interested in a general Q&A with me?

(I'll provide the disclaimer that I might best be described as an Apatheist or Atheist or Agnostoatheist or Igtheist or Antitheist, pick whichever you prefer)

It can be anything you like. Since I am the one doing the inviting, it only seems right to extend the offer to you to ask the first.

If you don't have any questions, I can generate one.

Hello and welcome to our humble little site. We do hope you'll enjoy your visit with us.

I do hope that you don't take this the wrong way, but unfortunately there have been others like yourself who have spoiled the cake per se and unfortunately, whether you think they are fair or not, we had to put in some rules to help keep the peace on this forum. You see, arguments between believers and non-believers can and usually get heated pretty fast and more often than not, both parties eventually show their ugly side. In other words, it never ends well.

I'd like to post a snipit of our Terms of Service below and I do apologize in advance for the eventual shutting down of this thread. I do hope you'll understand.
*************************************************************************************************************
Terms of Service – majorly revised 7 June 2013

http://www.christianforums.net/announcement.php?f=64&a=6

2.2: No active promotion of other Faiths is allowed:

You will not post any messages; links, images or photos that promote a religion or belief other than Biblical and historical Christianity (atheism is considered a "belief" for the purposes of this rule).

Non-Christians will not create threads inviting members to ask them about their belief systems such as "Ask the Atheist" or "Ask the Agnostic". Such threads are seen as a means to promote other faiths.
*************************************************************************************************************

Anyway, I do hope you'll understand why our rules are in place, and I do hope you will be able to refrain from breaking them. In the same breath, I'm going to have to ask Dave to drop out of this conversation because this thread will be locked soon.

All we really ask is that you respect our beliefs and any discussions you do get into, just keep in mind that your in our house and it's just common courtesy to respect a home owner. In turn, many of us will try to make you feel comfortable as a guest should be treated, but there will also be those that have had some negative run in's with fellow atheists that may still hold a grudge. We will do our best to keep everyone accountable to the full measure of the TOS in that regard.

In the meantime, I see that you enjoy Science. Perhaps you would enjoy some conversations going on in the Science forum?

Again, welcome to our little nook.

I can't post in the science forum, otherwise I would have started there.

I like to learn. And learning about Christians and their beliefs is interesting.

Asking questions about what Christians believe, is promoting other faiths? I do not understand that logic. Someone please explain.

I understand, and I also appreciate your eagerness to learn. As I said earlier, it's a shame that others before you spoiled it. Unfortunately, we had to create some rules and again, you probably don't think they are fair rules. However, when you signed up for your account on this forum, you did agree to abide by our rules and terms of service. I realize most don't read the terms of service just like nobody reads a licence agreement before loading software. However, you did agree to our terms when you submitted for an account on our site. I'm simply asking you to honor your agreement and honestly, It's kinda sad it has to be this way. But it has to.

Thanks, and I hope you find your way to the Science forum without any issues.

I don't understand how me asking a question, is subject to promoting other beliefs. Isn't the point of Christianity to answer questions about it with the goal of converting people? How do you do that if you don't allow people to learn about it?

I know, your new so of course it's going to seem a bit confusing for you. I really can't apologize for those before you that has shaped our rules into what they are. It sucks, but it's what we have to do.

But fear not. We do have a nook for people who want to ask questions. Again, it's regulated because of the nature of the discussions, but I think you'll find it helpful with any questions you may have. Here is a lnk.

Again, welcome to our nook. You probably feel like we are suffocating you. In response, I just want you to understand the fights that have broken out well before you arrived and as such, we hope you will extend us some grace in that area.

Thanks again.
