Intricate Detail

Christmas is the start of God's implementation plan to rescue His precious people who were destined to spend a long time stuck in a horrific place called Hell in the service of Satan.

The call and worship of poor lowly shepherds is just so typically God. Of course He shunned a palatial birth in a pretentious man made palace in a capital city visited by dignitaries and celebrities. What we think is palatial is a dump to God and important people are anything but to Him.

But then came the wise men. Most doubt the verascity of their belief and faith some even speculating they were astrologers.

Any speculative guesses or ideas why God called such as these?

In the book of Daniel there are many predictions... including the coming of the Messiah.

The Advent of the star in the sky was the biggest sign. But there were many others.
Basically God foretold to everyone when Jesus was coming. From the Rich to the Poor, from the educated to the ignorant when He was going to be here.

The only ones that got "it" was the poor/uneducated...and the Magi. The Magi are thought to be generational disciples of Daniel's. Yes, they knew when by the Chaldean star charts and the star. To this day there are a group of Iraqi known as "Meeps" that are the same people. (Generational religion runs deep in most places around the world)

Most ignored the signs. They were focused on the day to day worries of life or never bothered to put it all together.

At the same time as Jesus was born The new Roman ruler sent out a census. He also instituted a new rule. That Jews couldn't institute the death penalty for violations of their own religious laws. (Stubborn Jews still stoned people illegally anyway).
Genesis 49:10 is the verse that tells about this.
But instead of searching for the Messiah the Jewish leaders went about mourning how Rome had made God wrong...for three weeks wearing sackcloth and ashes. People focused on the wrong things...as usual.
We aren't so different today.
People are easily distracted, misled, and doubt what God has said. Mostly because the air breathes the same. But the times are always advancing. There are prophecy still outstanding. Tim LaHaye has a work of fiction that most believe is how the world will end. They can't understand the scriptures that foretell when Jesus is coming back.

But in the meantime.
I'm going to celebrate what He has done for me...in every way possible.

City dwellers today tend not to be familiar with stars because of street lights and smog. However, back then the event was so unusual that people who spent much time under the night sky would notice it. Because the earth rotates on its axis, most stars seem to rise in the east, and set in the west. Just like the sun. Moreover, its the same stars each night. A bright new star appearing in the sky would attract attention. For a star to go before people, and then come to rest over a certain spot was unprecedented. The regular night stars just don't do that.

...and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. Matthew 2:9b NKJV

Magi were renowned in their knowledge of astrology with regard to it being science and related their knowledge to the Star of Bethlehem. Daniel was highly regarded by the Persian court. In Daniel 9 the Magi had been given the prophecy of Messiah being cut off in the midst of His 35th year. They knew this event would occur 483 Babylonian years of 360 days after the Persian King Artaxerxes issued a decree. With this piece of information they deducted the Messiah would be born 32B.C.

There was also a Mesopotamian prophet named Balaam who foretold the coming of the star that would signify the rise of Messiah for the tribes of Israel. It was foretold that the Hebrews would receive a King Messiah and that his coming would be noted by a sign in the heavens specifically in the constellation known to Magi as Virgo. One of Daniels pupils, Zoroaster, incorporated these prophecies in his bible called the Zend Avest. Zoroastrianism was the state religion of Persia at the time of Jesus’ birth.

The Sumerian symbol for a star was attached to the name of Priestly Kings / High Priests in Mesopotamian literature

Kind of like a trademark symbol that signified somebody was a god on earth, called a determinant ( not read as part of the word, only placed there as a signifier )

The symbol encodes the month length of the High Priest texts, using mathematics

Any guess how to get to it ?

Cheers

:)
