Mostly Internet, google calendar, kindle app, some bible apps, a few music (guitar) apps. No games. Not a gamer. Except maybe solitaire. What do you use it for?
thanks the ipad is showing her ageTake a look at a Galaxy Tab; you should be able to get one in the low $200.
Flip phoneiPads are expensive. I may go to an Android but don't know where to start. Any ideas?
Thanks. I have a smart phone. With my tablet/iPad I only need wifi. I never use it otherwise. My phone does all I need in that category. To augment what JohnDB said, if you are going to use the tablet for pictures then yes look for one with an expansion slot. Though it is also good if you are going to be putting other additional files on it, more than what would fit on the onboard memory. Also, if you buy one from a supplier other than your cell service, more than likely it will be wifi only. Otherwise, you may want to see what tablets are available from your cell phone provider.
I had a flip phone. Still do. It makes a great alarm clock!Flip phone

Thanks Rick I will check that out!For that use,
Get the cheapest thing you can get your hands on. I bought a 6 inch tablet called a Voyager I use to read the Bible online. I turn it sideways and it's the same width as a book. For me a 10 inch tablet is too cumbersome. I may as well use my laptop if I have a 10 inch tablet. I like Android, but stay away from Kindle Fire they have their own version of Android and you cannot access the Play store last time I heard.
I say the cheapest thing you can get your hands on because I'm kind of a disposable computer guy. Everything lasts about the same amount of time. Software and security issues should be fixed. Once a device is 3 to five years old and starts getting hardware issues you have to be careful not to "chase" hardware repairs. You may end up paying the cost of a new device without actually owning one and the repairs will continue.
