I hope not because I really like some of his ideas. Like the one in this video about integrating one's shadow.
"Man's goal should not be perfection but wholeness."
There is a way we can integrate our "darker" traits like anger, aggression and competitiveness. Of course he says we should aim towards a healthy expression of those traits. Through assertive communication for example.

Yeah but assertive communication is frowned on nowadays. Don't you dare offend me or I'm telling!! :lol

I think it depends on how it affects one's understanding of Christianity.

If one starts to y
Think that one's love for God is the transference of one's love for one's father or due to not having a father or is a sexual desire for one's father etc etc etc, depending on the theories being studied. Then there is a need to step back and take another look, or discuss it with someone who understands this more than you do.

There is nothing wrong with study or learning intellectual ideas.

I got halfway through the video and I think I understand what it is trying to convey. I think it goes against Christianity. I say this because I do not like the dark parts of myself. Those are the parts of people that make it impossible for it to be heaven on earth. I can have assertive communication many times and it goes haywire if it doesn't come from a place of love.

I don't like the dark parts of myself either.
Jesus wasn't a psychotherapist but I think he might approve of Jungs idea here. Self acceptance can lead to accepting others, warts and all.

Without looking at the video, I can tell he is unaware of the concept of rebirth after the crucifixion of the "old man".
The reborn have no "dark side".

You might benefit by reading other books besides the Bible.

No thanks.
Nothing of this world is designed to help a Christian remain separate from this world.
And I would benefit from reading more of the Bible I admit .

Jungian psychology is not of God. He was heavily into the occult. He also sexually exploited his female patients.
I think you need to flesh that one out more empowered. I have heard some inkling of what you are saying. There were some weird things he did which had me seriously questioning his authenticity.
I don't think you can deny he has contributed to society and mankind in a positive way. Myers Briggs on introvert/extrovert personality tests to name one. I would be very careful in dismissing completely a person of his stature.

In and of the world......Jung away. Lol. In Christ? Discernment. I'd advise to steer clear...

Critiquing someone like Jung is not easy. I'm not qualified to say much myself. Someone like Jordan Peterson re energised my interest in Jung. And improved my understanding of him.

Hey empowered
I know you've had a really hard time via the mental health system where you live. Traumatic events no doubt. Psychiatrists dictating medication doses and so on.
If I had been through what you have been through, I might have the same view towards psychology and mental health professional authorities.
So it's no wonder Jung is further bad news to you. You've heard enough already.

Probably the closest idea to that, is when Jesus says "let he who is without sin cast the first stone".
