Is age a serious concern in a relationship?

Is there a certain point where age becomes a concern? If God sends a person into your life that you think is meant to be your spouse, should age really hold you back from having a relationship with that person? If you do, at what age difference do you say a person is too old for the other?

No. I am waiting until I'm 75 and rich. Then I'm going to marry me a smokin' hot 20 year old Swedish model.

I would say an age difference of 70 years would be the limit.

And since your money will be the only thing of importance, you'll feel incredibly empty inside. :lol

Actually a rather disturbing story, but sadly one of many - my English teacher said he met someone on the weekend who was almost 70 and he said that his latest partner was 18. It's just wrong on so many levels.

In terms of a relationship, like marraige, definately no more than 10 years, I think.

Is there anything in the Bible that gives us advice on this?

At 75, I don't think emptiness will be a concern.

Nick, there is nothing Biblically stopping a 60 year old person from marrying a 25 year old. I personally do not think it is ideal, but I do know that God's will as gone to unusual lengths before.

Example: God himself dying on the cross to save a worthless creature like man.

God's will is somthing that will be accomplished no matter how odd it seems in the eyes of man. :)

I like the way you think ;) :D

Let be realistic. Now im not talking about a 25 year older person marrying a 60 year old person. I know it can happen and it can work.

I think that as long as someone is not wanting to marry a child, meaning if two consenting ADULTS love each other and want to marry, why not? Especially if God has brought them together :)

Well let's think about a different age situation. Suppose a 26-27 year old is gorwing rather close to a 15-16 year old. This too can be something God is arranging, however from this angle age is a BIG deal. The government God has placed over some of us says that the younger cannot just marry or be intimate with this older person. So even if God is brining these two together, they must be obedient to wait until the younger comes of age in regards to the legal standards of the country one lives in.

Simple rule of thump: God's will trumps Age, cultural preferences, race, class, and anything else God choices to conquer. :)

Dude you're an idiot. For one, what if you die or something between now and 75? You'll be dead a virgin. On top of that you'll have missed all the best years there are, which are the younger years. There's also no garuntee that you'll be rich by that time. And honestly who cares about being rich? This world is gonna burn in the end.

I think minnesota was being sarcastic.

wow.. what's with all the hostility..

Minnesota.. you're not an idiot.. but that is really weird :lol

I guess it all depends where the age limit takes place..

like it was already said, if it involves someone who is not a consenting adult, that's a different story..

Like a 16 yr old and a 20 yr old.. no

but a 23 yr old and a 27 yr old.. yes

a 20 year old and a 72 yr old.. disturbing lol

but seriously, it just depends on ages of both parties and maturity levels and all that good stuff

speaking from expercience, my wife is 50 and i'm 36, kimberly0012, my wifes kids are older than you, and they have kids, making me a grandpa :shades . Their biological dad passed away two yrs ago, the youngest of my wife is 28, and has asked me for advice.

yes, there is an issue in age, but being that i was born in the 70's and was a teen in the 80's,my wife was a teen in the 70's we can find some common ground. Much of her music she listen too i can tolerate, and she has similar views on life.

You can find common ground, but its not for everybody. if i was single i would have a hard time datiing a 20yrd old.
