Is Allah of Islam the same as the God of the Bible?

Do you believe that Allah (of the Quran) and Yahweh Elohim (of the Bible) are the same?

IS ALLAH THE GOD OF THE BIBLE?

"This study examines the crucial question that needs to be addressed which is whether the God presented in the Quran is indeed the same God revealed in the Holy Bible. The Quran alleges that the God of Islam, Allah, is indeed the God of Abraham and hence the God of Scripture, Yahweh Elohim. But is this the case?

  • "Are we to assume that just because the Quran states that Allah is Yahweh of the Bible that both Jews and Christians are obligated to believe this to be true? Or do we examine the nature and attributes of Allah in order to compare them with the biblical portrait of Yahweh to find if this is the case?
"This process of examination is essential since our objective is to discover the true nature of God, a process whose outcome entails eternal consequences in regards to man's future destiny in the afterlife. After all, if Allah is the God of Abraham then Jews and Christians are wrong for not embracing Islam. But if Allah is not Yahweh, then Muslims are not worshiping the same God only with a different name.

"We will examine certain qualities of Allah as stated in the Quran and briefly compare them to Yahweh and see where the evidence leads us. The reason why we are comparing Allah to Yahweh as opposed to contrasting Yahweh to the quranic portrait of Allah, using the Quran as the standard, is due to the fact that it is Islam that claims to worship the same God of the Holy Bible. Thus, the burden of proof rests upon the Muslims to defend this contention since they believe Allah is the same as Yahweh.

Conclusion: No.

Jesus told His Jewish enemies that their God was the devil!

You're all Abrahamic, stand fast with your Muslim brothers.

Syntax: You're all Abrahamic, stand fast with your Muslim brothers.

Gary: Tell me about Abraham/Abram in the Quran. Are they the same? All the stories the same? Same names? Any differences at all?

By the way, did you even read the article in the link?

yeah, and the arabs are descendants of ismael, while god blessed the children of isaac.

As I posted in another thread, Mohammed has freely admitted that allah came from his imagination. Mohammed HIMSELF admitted that allah is an imaginary God! That's called an hallucination. An hallucination is a belief that is not supported anywhere in reality except from someone's imagination. I'm reading a book on the history of the middle ages where the author says that mohammed himself admitted that he didn't know whether his beliefs came from God or the devil. That fits perfectly with the confusion inside a person who's hallucinating.

wow heidi, do tell me which thread that was, and which post, for this is information i should share with muslims!

Here is a whole lot of information you should share with Muslims......

mohammed

If you read the biography of Mohammed you will discover there is a lot of similarities with Paul. Paul has a vision and Mohammed has a vision. The God of Islam is the same God of the O/T in that he is revered as the creator of all things knows all etc etc etc. Someone on these boards made a statement to the effect of if Christianity was false then how did it spread so rapidly. The same can be said of Islam. Read from the link how Mohammed who was considered at first to be a novelty or soothsayer managed to parlay his beliefs into the fastest growing religion on the face of the planet.

A LOT of similarities? I think not, for Paul had witnesses--who were Mohammed's witnesses?

I see NO similarities between Paul and Mohammed.

reznwerks hasn't even got to understand Christianity (he has not even read the whole Bible) now he is trying to tell us about Islam... WITHOUT READING the Quran or the Hadith.

Then he tries to tell us that Paul is like Muhammad. Did Paul lead an army? Did Paul rape women? Did Paul raid caravans? Did Paul have sex with a 6 year-old child? Did Paul have 9-11 wives? Did Paul have sex with concubines?

Poor old reznwerk has so much to learn...
This paper will focus on contrasting the Apostle Paul’s life and teachings with that of Muhammad’s. As we shall shortly demonstrate, the facts will prove that Muhammad was not in the league of the Apostle Paul.
This brief comparison should convincingly demonstrate to our readers that Muhammad doesn’t even come close in comparing to the beloved Apostle Paul, the risen Lord Jesus’ faithful and righteous servant.

What Paul did was hijack Christianity if not create it. Pauls claim to fame was a vision that he claimed to have. From this Paul went on to create and rewrite Christianity. Mohammed had the same claim in the he said the angel Gabriel visited him. From this Mohammed went on to create Islam.

Paul was with a group of others when he had the experience that changed his life. Others were there. Others testified to his being struck blind.

Who was with Mohammed when he "met Gabriel"?

The Quran was suppose to be the proof of his visit by the angel. He was suppose to be illiterare and thus the book had to be a miracle to be written by an illiterate man. (I doubt he was illiterate but probably belonged to an illiterate culture.)

It is easy to find people that talk to gods. Just look at David Koresh. He had many followers that believed him. Is that much different from Muhammad or Paul having followers that believe their divine dreams?

Gary: What utter rubbish. I will list over 100 items (with proof from Scripture) which show Jesus and Paul taught the same message. OK? Here are the first 20.

PAUL: Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David. (2 Timothy 2:8)

Absolutely and unequivocally NOT. Alvin was the south Arabian moon deity, married to the sun goddess, and they had three daughters: Allat, al-Uzzah, and Manat. Alvin was one of 360 deities in the Kaaba, and ol' Mo-Man turned him into the supreme god of Islam.

I think ol' Alvin is a DEMON.
