Is America trying to get rid of God these days?

Actually, are there any signs at all that are even hinting towards that of america trying to get rid of god? like I said in my first post, America was once one of the worlds most Secular countries! There was a treated which was approved unanomously that clearly states that america wanted to make sure state and church were seperate.

I dont see how America could be any less religious then it was back then? I also dont see how America was every founded upon Christianity in any way? could someone explain how both of these could even be considered true?

Not getting all worked up anymore is the same as saying you became complacent and unconcerned. This my friend is typical of them who don't want to rock the boat. These are the same ones who have allowed same sex marriage to become mainstream. They are the same who would no longer be concerned with the Homos and lezbos running ramped. These are the same ones who wouds see Obama as a Christian. Wake up - stop your slumber and stand for the Light or you will fall into darkness.

Actually, "not getting all worked up" would be more in line with Phil. 4:6-7. This is not slumber; this is a peaceful knowledge and gratitude that God is in control.

Also, only God knows whether someone is truly saved.

So JOJO - we shall NOT Know them by their fruits?

Innkeeper, you're trying to corner me into going against the Word. But I don't play that game. But by asking this question, are you denying that what I said was true? That "only God knows whether someone is truly saved." ?

I'd also like to add that Matthew 7:15-16, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits," is referring to false prophets. I don't view Obama as a prophet of any sort. Do you? Does anyone else? Has he ever claimed to be a prophet of the Lord?

Our mandate as Christians is to be witnesses of the gospel and to go and make disciples. Shouldn't we get "worked up" when we don't see this happening, and as a result sin abounds? Why is our anger and priorities so misplaced?

The battle is being waged in the wrong place through carnal means. The worldly church and apostate religion are ground zero and where the source of Americas fall comes from. :shrug :screwloose

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

“Before they went out and announced that they had done away with the Articles of Confederation and had written an entirely new document for our country, Ben Franklin stood up and he called the assembly of delegates to prayer and said, ‘Scripture teachers us that the sparrow can’t fall to the ground without his notice. Is it likely that an empire will rise without His aid?’ If we don’t go to prayer, he said, ‘We will be no more successful than the builders of Babylon.’â€Â

"In God we trust."

Evo, you're in denial.

lol, actually brian i am Canadian. so i am not in denial. I am just reciting what i have learned. I'll be able to look more into it when i get back from my trip.

I have always wondered why it says "In god we trust" if some of the founders were completely against religion.
