Is Google anti-Christian?

Google's slogan is apparently, 'Don't be evil!' Well, I'm beginning to wonder.

I signed up for a Google Adwords account and spent two days researching keywords, their density and cost. Along the way I discovered that keywords related to Christian subjects were relatively unsupported and were apparently available. There were a lot available at 5c a click. I initially thought that it was a case of the world is shy to associate with Christians, but since I am not, I thought that I had struck a bargain. So I listed 73 keywords at 5c a click.

I signed in two days later and every single one of them was disabled and I was now given the opportunity to accept their offer of as much as $20 dollars per click! They then offered me the opportunity to optimize my campaign, which I selected only to be offered the same keywords at 20c plus! Isn't that interesting? In two days my keys words that were not in high demand were mysteriously in such demand that they suddenly all jumped in price by at least 400%!. What if I had accepted the $10 to $20 offer?

Smells really fishy to me. Screams Con At Me.

Am I the only Christian experiencing this or have other Christians also experienced this?

Well, first of all, I would not sign up for any such so-called service at that price. I'm not so sure its Anti-Christian as much as wanting extra money.

Consider yourself duped and try to get a refund, or at least quit the service. And in anything in life, do not believe something because its fed to you. Question every intent.
 
It wouldn't surprise me at all. I've read stories of Google acting unethically for years now and a quick internet search turns up articles like this one:

There seems to be a fair body of evidence that the company is anti-Christian. At least one example is listed in the article above. I personally never use Google or any of their services because I do not feel it is a just company. Scroll to the bottom of the story linked above to read any of the MANY stories about abuse of power and attack of Christian groups by Google.
 
The way google calculates the adword rates depends on a lot of things. The closer your words to the actual content, the cheaper the rates are. The more traffic your ad gets, the cheaper the rates are.
I have an adwords account but I have suspended my campaign because I don't think it's worth the expense. The traffic generated is less than the traffic provided by content related to search results.
 
Thanks CC, I wasn't aware of any anti Christian practices from Yahoo.

I'm not too thrilled with Google's "street view" maps. I was able to zoom right in on my own driveway! Licence plate blurred out, but nonetheless. I can't believe thay have been sending (and paying) people out with panaromic cameras photograpging neighborhoods. :o
 
Once again, Google has chosen to celebrate the birthday of Charles Darwin with a special logo and made no logo of any kind - not even a secular logo of colored eggs - for Easter. I've been refusing to use Google for years now because they are a highly anti-Christian company. Many refuse to believe it, but when you have holidays as big as Easter getting skipped when Darwin's birthday makes the list it should be obvious. Feel free to click on the link above and review all the things they have celebrated over the years. Paganism, er, "Earth Day" of course gets its own logo for example but Christmas and Easter do not. There's no coincidences here!
 
I do believe Google is Anti-Christian because like the last person said, they did not decorate their home page with anything Easter. That's okay. One of these days, I wouldn't be surprised if Google crashes and burns in some way. You can't take God out of something and expect to be successful. It may appear on the surface you're successful but God gets the last word.

There was an Easter logo in 2000. Then, in 2001, they replaced the 'o' in Google on the search results pages with Easter eggs.

Earth Day is not a pagan holiday. It is a holiday intended to remind us of our obligation to be good stewards of the Earth and its resources.

There have been easter logo's in the past, but its weird they don't anymore. They do have a Saint Patricks logo every year, but that one probably doesnt count. :)

I do like some of the features google offers. Before them email providers like hotmail gave you 10mb's, they blew that limit away. : ) I do enjoy getting free numbers and addresses from 1-800-goog-411 instead of paying 411. And the phone thing looks very interesting, gotta look into that some more.

I wonder how long before they buy apple and microsoft? :)

Vic, I just did a street view of my address and was shocked to discover that it shows my house! :o

My car was the only one in the driveway though, strange, I must have been home on my lunch break. :chin
 
This leans more anti-American than anti-Christian, but it could if there was a show of support for Islam. Google does fancy things with their name for certain holidays to celebrate these days. They did not do anything on December 7th this past year and was pressured into doing something. So part way through the day, they bowed to pressure and made adjustments to honor the day... but there was controversy about the way they altered the "e" in "Google" as many people saw in the image, the Islamic crescent moon. I'm not sure. I guess it's open to opinion.

Well i dont know any Christians that work for Google. They aren't going to come out and say they are anti-Christian but by there fruits ye will know them. Google as a company tries to make itself look friendly and helpful to the masses, but the company is still worldly, as some say: they are trying to conquer the Internet! In fact Google has been invited to Bilderberg Group meetings. If you dont know much about the Bilderberg Group it is because it is a secret group of non-Christian elite that make decisions that affect the world. Its not the only group that does that but it is one of them.

If you dont like a Google service, go for an alternative:
1. For a search engine try Startpage Search Engine it works well, is private, and does not use cookies.
2. Dont use Gmail, Worthy Email - Premium Christian Email Service is a "Christian" alternative.
3. Dont use Google images, there are plenty of other images.
4. Only use Google maps if you really have to.
5. If Google has a service, so does someone else.
