Is Growing Slow the best way to grow?

I'm assuming you mean spiritual growth. I don't know that we really get much say in how quickly we grow. I grew a lot in "Jesus Camp" (1 year Christian Rehab), then more in 1 year of relative isolation. Now, I'm still growing, some months more than others. Its in God's hands, unless you deliberately try to slow the process (bad idea) or speed it up (only a good idea if you're ready, I think).

I think they are both tied together. It's like my kid who goes through growth spurts. As he enters adolescence, he appreciates the noticeable changes in his body, but he looks forward to being more mature. Well... sometimes that is :lol

21 An inheritance gained hurriedly at the beginning
Will not be blessed in the end."

(Proverbs 20:21 NASB)

Think about this in terms of growing up into our inheritance in Christ.

Kind of reminds me of the second type of soil in the parable of the sower. It grew up fast, but withered quickly when the heat of the sun beat on it because it had no root.

It takes time to put down firm roots. Young Christians should be encouraged by this truth.
