Is healing real

I went to a lot of faith healing services when I was a kid. Saw the 700 club and Robert Tilton, Benny Hin etc. They all to do the healing thing. Why are all the healing of stupid stuff you can't tell if they really are cured or not? Why doesn't God heal Veterans who's legs got blown off? Or burn victims with horrible scars, or people with downs syndrome? What's up with that. Sure I met people who said their cancer went away, but they could have just gotten better on their own, or just believing it made them better or they naver had cancer in the first place. Why no honest to goodness miracles?

Last I read about old Benny H, he had two 'possible' healings that were questionable at best.

Can God heal ? Absolutely.

I know what you mean. It's a frustration to me also. Some Christians do the same thing with positive idealistic thinking. (By the way I do believe God is good). They read all the promises of God... but what happens when things go wrong... how to answer. My answer is that ... there are actually some very good people that have some very bad things happen to them... there are also some very bad people that do much better than they should in life. In the end all things are sorted out with God (at judgement). Problem is for a person with a crushing problem. That's just a little emotional bandaid. Good and evil happen to both the good and the evil. Ecclesiastes says that. It's also elsewhere in the Bible.
Honestly, if I had the power to heal you... I would. I have seen a lot of hype on healing, tongues, etc. It's almost like being in a club sometimes. Unfortunately, most of them really do believe they have accomplished something. I'm not saying healing isn't possible... but I have yet to see a bonafide, proveable miracle. It seems just as the early saints (old testament) never did get to see the Messiah... so Christians now have to show faith and prove they believe, even when they can't see God or audibly hear God. I can only say I still do feel the Spirit of God sometimes. Chills run up and down my body. I can also feel a sense of grief... sometimes, even when I don't find out what it's about until later.

It seems to be the way God has set things up. Blessed are those that have not seen and yet believe.
I can comprehend the frustration you have if you want a healing and it's not happening. Maybe just try being thankful to God and not asking for it (I'm saying that only so you don't feel too hopeless). It can create a lot of anger,when we don't get the answers we want.
If God ever actually does plan on healing you. He already knows your desires. I would try to leave it at that and be thankful for now. Hope at least the emotional side gets better.

I can tell you from true life exsperience,,,God does heal,,but not by some fake lying tv preachers that yell fire and hell people running down aisles....... :bigfrown

If you want God to heal you obey the rules and the rules are O so simple....

James 5:14 "If any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:"

Sometime there wont be elders around,,,or in my case I wouldnt dare let some rapture spewing fake preacher touch me.....

The oil is [aleipho], "pure olive oil".......

James 5:15 "And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him."

And if you wanna know a little inside Christian tip,,,God seems to really like to move His hand around Passover and Christmas.....

I'm saying if it really happened let other Christians know the full truth. By the way I do believe in the second coming of Christ at the end of the tribulation. Some might call that the rapture. The dead in Christ rise first, then we which are alive (if we are among the living) and remain are caught up to meet the Lord in the air... and so shall we ever be with the Lord. This is Bible.

I have been healed by God before.....because I followed the instruction that are given,,,,and as far as this rapture nonsense you will have to start a new thread or reply on a old one and I can show from the text there is no rapture at all..........and there is not 2 comings of Christ I dont know where you got that......

:amen I agree 100% with you on this one NIGHTMARE, my mom was healed of a nerve problem in her mouth when the elders of the church prayed over her in this manner. She was told by the doctors she would have to live with the pain for the rest of her life as they could not help her. She has passed away since then but seen Gods miracle work with the pray of faith and this is true! I agree with your assessment of the preachers that were mentioned too.

I dont know if this means anything,,,but you know whats strange is,,,both times I was healed it was exactly 3 days after I annoited myself,,,,, I never really thought about I was just happy I recieved the healing.......But the churches around me are ,,,,well,,,,lets just say its more of a circus then a church,,,so I didnt have any elders to annoint me and pray,,,I just did it myself.....well I bought the oil and put it on,,, but God did the real part.....

With a comment like that I can say you dont knopw what a cluster headache is,,,its more then serious thats why they call then suicide headaches,,,,,,I can assure you,,,if you got one right now you would fall on the floor start screaming and banging your head on the ground and consider taking your own life.....

When people start taking there lives I call the severe illness,,,,and just a tip,,,,I here much doubt in your words,,,that surely wont move the hand of the Lord.....

Yes healing is real. It comes from God and not the people although we can be his instruments through which He works.
Divine healing; I have personally witnessed this many times.
Healing through physicians and your own bodies immune system are also His hand at work.
My Christian walk and my life's experience tell me that :
Sometimes He heals divinely.
Sometimes He walks with us as we go through life's trials and our faith is well tried.
Sometimes He takes us home which is the ultimate healing.
In any one of these cases my answer would be that yes healing is real and God is good.

Jesus did many miracles in a number of cities...later He went back and denounced (upbraided) those same cities because 'they did not repent'. Mt 11:20

God has allowed me to heal people and animals before and of course there is a rapture as it happened to Elijah

I'm curious as to how you both know that he doesn't heal those things? Not at all a rational argument unless you have gone around the world to every person that has had prayer for healing. Just because you haven't personally seen or heard of such things doesn't mean they don't happen.

It is a very rational argument. If an amputee, burn victim, or mentally retarded person had been healed we would all know about it. It would be on the news.

I have seen a few serious healings on the LOCAL news. But to assume that serious healings would show up on the big news programs, is really to not understand the nature of those new programs. If a person believes the news is really just purely the news then i can see why it would be expected to see real miracles on there, however the news is propaganda. Yes the events some of them are true, but they are put there to sway the publics mind towards an agenda. To fill the masses mind with their way of thinking so we will all go along peacefully with whatever happens in the world and so we will be convinced of the ideals of the elite so we do not rock the boat. We are told by Jesus that darkness hates the light, would the pharsees have put Jesus miracles on the news? Of course not. Nor will the darkness put on t.v. that which reveals themselves to be darkness and not light.
