I was hoping to edit my first post (or second, after the New Member Introduction), but I didn't see any way to do that.

Edit: That is, in the theology forum.

I believe there is a (rather short) time frame to be able to edit a post. I do not know if it is an hour, or a day, but certainly not more than that. It is long enough that if you re read your post and you misspelled ..... or forgot to say .... you can go back and correct it. Not much more than that.

Thanks, I just experienced that in the theology forum. Maybe it becomes uneditable after you log out.

I have been caught out a few times when I wanted to edit a post. I think it is 30 minutes. I would love longer, please, pretty please. :)
.

I do believe it is 30 minutes. You can always make a new post and let others know that you edited something you said in another post and give the number of that post that you edited from.

Thanks. I will bear that in mind. Thanks for bearing with me.
"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Gal6:2
"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill." Mat5:17
"But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.'" Mat9:13
The fulfillment of the Law and Prophets with mercy through Christ Jesus was the perfection thereof.

You are doing fine. It takes a bit to catch on. God bless.

I’ll just add this…. Bad apples cause grief on those who do good.

Many, many years ago there was no limit on editing or deleting messages and we had members deleting hundreds of their posts.

Another issue we saw occurred in heated discussion where members would edit a theological error when it was brought to their attention and then deny they had said it and accused the other member of misquoting them.

It was these two issues that put the current policies in place.

I would add this.

No member can edit or delete posts in the Current Events and Politics forum. What is said is said.

Terraphim there is another way to post and avoid the issue. I do this often. I'll create my post/reply using a word processor like Microsfoft Word or LibreOffice that I use and that way I can edit all I want until it reads as I intend. Then I just copy the text to my post in CFnet.

I use notepad to write many of my replies out before I post them.
