Is Scientology all bad?

Yes..
is my first answer. Absolutely evil. A cult. Shocking. Satan's work.
My only point, the only thing I want to say is ,,,,,
Why couldn't Christianity use some of the auditing ideas? The ones which can help us overcome our personal problems. A couns llor. To self improve.
Apparently people like Jerry Seinfeld said he benefited from Scientology courses.
Is self improvement at odds with being a Christian? I don't think so.
The Bible alone cannot improve all aspects of our lives. Some of us need coaching. Counselling. Mentoring.
Some of this was available in Scientology. Too bad it was for evil purposes.

Didn't they take those ideas from Christianity?
Fellowship, guardianship, mentoring, pastors and deacons, share and share alike?
But they have given the credit to men instead of to God.

Hubbard hated Christianity. But he ironically hated psychiatry too.
To be honest most pastors don't have good counselling skills. They are too quick to recommend the Bible as a cure all.

I don't think that Jerry Seinfeld is a Scientologist. I've never heard that about him. I know that the girl, Leah Remini from the Queen of Kings show was in it briefly and then left it with a vengeance and produced some videos which exposed their crap and lies. I was glad to see that she got away from it.

But Tom Cruise was ruined by them. He acts so weird now and sticks up for them people. So does John Travolta I'm pretty sure.

Someone gave me a Dianetics book way back in the 70's or 80's and I read maybe one chapter of it and didn't even finish reading that book. I found it very weird and tossed it as something weird. So you're right, it's of zero value and to be avoided.

They are both too afraid to quit. Because scientology has all their dirty secrets. They will leak to the media.

He did one of their courses and said it benefited him. Fact not fiction.

Yeah, I just googled it and it said he took one course back in the 70's and it didn't interest him so he didn't pursue it. Good for him.

Go to Youtube and google Leah Remini and Scientology and listen to what she has to say about them. She has a lot to say about it. Nothing good either, lol.

It's absolute rubbish I agree.
Hubbard was a fantasy science fiction writer. Then he based a religion on his fantasy.

Some Christians would agree with Scientology on their tough stance on homosexuality.
I heard they try to change gays with counselling.
They don't mind taking gay money. But when the gay member runs out of money, suddenly their gayness becomes a problem.

Universal Church of God is a Metaphysical Fellowship Church embracing all religions, all cultures, and all philosophies. As an autonomous New Spirituality Church as they teach a theology built upon the foundation of truth as revealed in the Spiritual teachings of the World's religions, while also celebrating and assimilating the contributions and insight of Science, the Arts and Philosophy.

Don't drink the Kool-Aid. :eek2

Anyway ive recently been intrigued by scientology. Having watched an excellent doco.
Hubbard. What a weirdo. But there must have been some evil genius in there. Just like we hate Hitler, Mao or Stalin. You gotta respect their evil genius.
A big part is taking advantage of wannabe actors in LA. Their desperation for fame.

Scientology is just a huge vacuum cleaning , money draining , life sucking vampire. It lives off its poor members vulnerability.
But some Christian churches have at least some similarities. Prosperity gospel? The more you give, the safer you'll be in the next life? Guilt and vulnerability. But surely Churches let you go easier than scientology.

Hubbard isn't the only one in contact with the devil.

After watching Leah Remini's documentary on Scientology, it has me convinced that in general, it's a lot about the money and power over people. Ever been to towns where they had cameras everywhere? Seriously, it's creepy.

I'm interested in how much influence Scientology has on the places people live in this forum.
Thanks.

I don't think we have that many scientologists here, nothing like Clearwater, Florida (I've been there, but didn't realize how much that place is watched - I'm glad we were only staying the night, it gives me the creeps) or some place like that. I am not nor have I ever been a scientologist so I don't have any ties.

There are other religions far up north of our state that are the more problematic with the FLDS groups and the Kingston clan. They pretty much own some of their own towns and businesses up there and have the entire area watched. There's some areas around here that my husband and I don't drive into because you just start getting followed, which makes us wonder if maybe there are some similar things happening around us.
