Mine is male.. He is a very wonderful gentleman. I have never visited a female doctor. For some reason I prefer a male doctor...not sure why...but I do.

I also have a male doctor and have known him for many years so I feel comfortable and have good communication with him.

My PCP is female. Mainly because I think they take women more seriously. Also, I feel more comfortable asking certain types of questions.

I much prefer going to a woman for "woman" things... other than that, it really doesn't matter to me.

Family doc male, psychiatrist (gotta see one of those to avoid being committed, lol) female. I like it that way. I don't have a strong preference for primary care docs--all of mine have seemed like professional, skilled, motivated people--but for the shrinks...ALWAYS go to a female. Male shrinks are some of the most deeply screwed up people you'll ever meet.

Hi dear Sister Abide. Hey, I feel the same as you about my male doctor. When he takes my blood pressure I trust him completely. Did I get the intent right here?
