I was indeed kind of shocked when someone pointed out that this verse is being misinterpreted - taken out of context. The last few phrases, By His wounds we are healed, is not talking about physical healing - but about redemption from sin, the preacher said.
 
I dunno. I looked at BibleHub and most commentaries line up w/ that preacher, but...I kinda get the sense that saying "it ONLY means our sins" or "it DEFINITELY includes physical healing" reflects more the outlook of the one writing the commentary (or preaching the sermon) than what the text is actually saying.

Just my thoughts.

They are prolly keying off 1 Peter 2:24.
If physical healing from God is not a covenant privilege then where does it come from?
