It's donut day? Never heard of it. I'm on it, I like donuts!

What a great idea. Finally, a cool holiday with a purpose, lol.

Here's my campfire donut recipe for you all:

A few cans of those dinner rolls/biscuts.
Jelly/pudding what ever you like (and take one of those huge pastry syringes to inject the donuts)
powdered sugar
oil

Pop open the can. Inject them with jelly, drop them into the hot oil which you have going on the fire (coals).
When they're done and nice and brown, remove from hot oil to a paper towel to drain.
While still hot sprinkle them with powdered sugar. It melts, leaving them 'glazed'.
Voila' Instant fresh donuts.

You can do it on the stovetop too.

About as easy as it gets.

Actually, that was yesterday. I missed out on it to as I found out about it after I was already at work and had no way to get to a donut shop, much less had one anywhere nearby.

Yes,RN is right.It is the first Friday in the month of June.Does anyone have a favorite?Mine is a maple bar.

Favorite donut? That's a tough question, like which child of yours do you love more, lol. Almost anything creme filled/custard filled I guess. Those pecan donuts are awfully good too. Glazed of course, chocolate. i'm not too crazy about those multi colored sprinkles on some of them but wont exactly turn them down either. Bismarks/bearclaws mmm. Powdered donuts are good too. Even plain cake donuts are good, the best for dipping.

My favorite I have only really found in one place. It is called a cyclops. It is like a regular donut with chocolate frosting, but with a nice dollop of vanilla icing in the middle.

I would get one on the way to school almost every morning in High School.

There is a place in Oregon that is very popular to get donuts.I have never been in there but I have eaten their donuts.It is called "VooDoo Donuts".Just the name creeps me out.They have all kinds of weird stuff on their donuts such as bacon,pepperoni.I was not impressed with the taste.

2)Old fashioned or buttermilk donuts
3)Glazed donuts
4) Applesauce glazed donuts
5) Apple Fritters
6) Filled donuts....fruit filled or cream filled
7) Frosted donuts....chocolate,maple or vanilla frosted.These can also have spinkles on them.
8) Maple bars (my personal favorite )sometimes you can get chocolate on them instead of maple
9) Crullers.These have a different shape.They are kind of airy and have a different consistency.I do not care for them.
10)Boston Kreme
11) Powdered donuts
12) Cinnamon rolls
That is all I can think of I am sure there are more.
