When you can't imagine talking to your boss in a civilized manner? All I can imagine is unleashing my wrath and all the pent up anger and frustration I have against him.

Horrible.

Pray for me.

Honestly...he gets paid a lot to have a nice, comfortable title. Me and another lady do the majority of his work. He has chosen to delegate and not learn anything about the job he's supposed to be doing. We recently got audited and the majority of the things we got in trouble for were things that he approved and he has yet to take responsibility for doing so.

So I've been dealing with this for the past year and a half and it's to the point where I can't look at him in the face because I feel such disgust. Now I have to talk to him about something else he approved that he wasn't supposed to and I just can't imagine being nice. I'm being told to be nice and as I run through the conversation in my head I just can't imagine that it's actually possible for me to do so.

Sometimes you need to confront your boss on these issues. but when you do (because he is your boss) use words like "i feel this" instead of " you did this" Its less aggressive and could effect the outcome of an argument.

Oh how I wish I could keep that in mind!

I'm trying to restructure what I'm going to say to sounds less aggressive but it's really hard! It's actually something I have already talked to him about but he thinks he can bypass because he has the title he has (which he can't because we get audited and there are regulations) He thinks if he signs off on it then it's all good. Reeeaaaally annoying.

Patience. Must have patience...

I can see where you would get upset..

Where is the documentation stating that he approved, or directed said offenses? If he is your manager, he is responsible for ensuring that policy is being upheld by his subordinates.

Do you have an open door policy where you work, or can you go to his manager?

It just seems that if he's asking you to do something that you know is against company policy, you should be able to refuse to do the task without repercussions. Perhaps you could remind him that what he is approving is against policy, and if he disagrees, have him put his direction in writing as a CYB, then forward that to his manager asking for clarification, that way if you get audited, your in the clear.

I think the main problem I face is that I'm in charge of training everyone to do things correctly. Even though he is my boss, I don't think him overriding what they have learned is productive. What bothers me the most is that he uses his title to 'OK' everything even though it's not really ok. It confuses my employees and makes them uncofortable because they know better.

I have documentation stating how we should go about things but since we're small we can get away with approving stuff that other places can't.

Still, to me the point is doing stuff correctly in the first place, not trying to correct it later on when we're being audited...which is his specialty!

I could go to the CEO but he thinks this guy is "just quirky"...er...whatever. I rather just tell him myself.

Will do. I ask the same for myself and my relationship with my boss. Bless his heart, he can be a hateful, overbearing jerk. Meh. :bigfrown

Praying Raquel Ana..........keep everything documented as suggested by others. Don't allow yourself to be his escape goat in his follies to be disobedient due to his position held....sad!

I also know slightly how you feel..

So far my company has actually purposefully got rid of not one great manager.. Not just two great managers.. But also one amazing pharmacist as well..

One, because he was a Pastor of a church trying to help a couple solve a divorce issue and the husband.. well.. did want the divorce.. :gah .. Complained to the company.. Company fired the manager (He worked there for 12 years.. ) Then they moved his replacement (who also was a good manger) to a small store in the mountains.. And then they totally disrespected our pharmacist and he left and started his own pharmacy.. And took all of our customers!

Now.. After all that.. And now the economy.. They are thinking of closing the store.. :shrug

Ugh..

Pray for me as well.. lol. :shame

Wow, I'll pray for you all.

No man is an island, yet those who hurt others by their personal actions never take responsibility for it. That's what's so angering and frustrating. The way our God can work despite people is truly MIRACULOUS!!! It's why we must ask Him for His help DAILY!
