Israel's falling away through enticement to worship idols and adultery just before leaving the wilderness?

Have been looking for the section (numbers?) where the children of Israel were enticed to iidol worship through adultery soon before receiving the speech from my nebo and crossing Jordan. I can seem to find it, but all those participating were killed and then Israel's armies destroyed the amalekites?,. Moabites?

Any help.??

Ok, thanks. I'm referring to a time just before crossing Jordan under Joshua. I thought that towards the latter part of the 40 yrs there was a time when the women of the moabites? Invited the men to their tents? In exchange for worshipping idols. When Moses found out, he instructed them to kill the women who induced them. I thought it was around the balaa/ balaam incident.
