Jars of Clay

I saw them in concert, 1998, Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, at the Billy Graham Crusade.
I was impressed.

I don't think Billy Graham gets out much now.

In some ways his son Franklin seems a bit more conservative than his father; and so does Anne Graham Lotz. Maybe they would prefer a more traditional choir, than a band like Jars of Clay; I don't know...

Billy Graham also had Charlie Daniels.

Well, I would regard Billy Graham as someone who has been the means of blessing to many people; I would not regard him as some kind of pope, however. In the end, music is kind of subjective, I guess.

Blessings.

Actually, Ive had many piercings. Labret, Monroe, eyebrow, nose, ears.

Angel :

Cool. All pierced at about the same time, maybe? or between long gaps? Some people getting pierced prefer to space them out, time-wise, anyway.

A lot of male rock singers seem to get piercings or plugs, anyway.

I think the Jars of Clay name is partly derived from Romans 9 and the potter/clay analogy. Kind of, trusting the Lord to mold us as He sees fit.

Blessings.

No, I got piercings variously over the years.

Interesting insight to JOC!

Angel:

It must feel nice anyway to add an extra piercing now and again, after a year or so, or whatever.

Yes, if you read Romans 9, which is designed to make the reader trust him- or herself to the capable and wise hands of the Master Potter, we can increase our trust in Him, without necessarily feeling we have to understand all that the Lord is doing first, before we trust Him. Maybe this was part of the inspiration behind the Jars of Clay name.

Blessings.

I'm not interested in plugs.

Maybe not only rock musicians, you know?

PS: You're right, not just rock musicians; and actually, some plugs look just like chunky earrings and it's only when you examine the backs that you realize that they go through a stretched hole in the earlobes, right.

Blessings.

No, I haven't any piercings now. They were in my early twenties.
I actually got my labret pierced at three differnt times.
my fav piercing was a ring in my nose.
I just grew out of piercings. Sometimes I think about it, but I don't want it badly enough.
I'm sticking to tattoos

I guess the bare earlobe is a kind of minimalist statement...

A pierced person - unless with really stretched earlobes - can easily cease to look like a pierced person. But I'm sure you are comfortable becoming gradually more and more tattooed.

Not sure if the Jars of Clay guys have tattoos, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Blessings.

I think the lead singer has a small one on his wrist
I forget his name
(which I should know!)

I think it has often been women who would start with small ones on wrists (or ankles) when first conceding to the attraction of getting tattooed.

But I don't really think that getting a small one on a wrist is particularly a feminine or masculine thing, really; depends what the person: m or f, wants, like the Jars of Clay guy you mentioned.

Blessings.
