[__ Prayer __] jehovah's witness

From what I have read, maybe out of the whole assembly only a couple are allowed to receive it. Maybe the rest are just there to worship those few. :eek2 I've never felt comfortable asking them what they do because I don't know that I could respond correctly.
most of the time , NONE received it. they just talked about the event and then passed around the bread and wine. if they knew one was of the 144k they would have that person only take it and we would all know. it would be told the week before we would have one their to receive it and sometimes they would speak first, either the week before or the Tuesday before the day of communion.

their definition of soul is different.in that they aren't believer of the idea of an eternal soul and hell. they also don't believe in heaven for all believers

Oh no, say it isn't so, I too believe there is no eternal soul in hell, never mind, you said and hell.
I thought believers got eternal life.
Hell will be cast into the lake of fire.

Guess, I don't agree with them on some things, lol.

most don't know the difference. i know that gehenna isn't hell, hell is hades/sheol. but that is for another thread.

Usually I don't have to deal with these guys but since its close to communion time which they do at the same time we celebrate easter.I might have to do some tangoing with them. im not going to convert for sure but one thing they are good at is arguing. I know their arguments, I was one, my wife wasn't. they believe only 144,000 can partake in the bread and the blood. its strange but that is what they teach.
One has to admire the way they get out into the community and share their faith. Obviously, you know more about them than me, but I'm sure there are some non-Jehovah Witnesses who also believe only 144,000 "make it," and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of Jehovah's Witnesses believe there are more than 144,000. The ones who come to my place are always friendly. I just tell them I am a United Methodist. They leave me with a little magazine. We don't argue. I don't invite them into my apartment.

Father, thank You for giving Jason Your wisdom and knowledge to know how to speak to these misguided, children of Yours. Thank You that You really do love them to and desire that they are able to know the Truth, so that You may set them free. We pray ps 91 over Jason and those whom he comes in contact with. Father we release the gift of Your forgiveness and love unto them all. And thank You for reconciling more lost children unto You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

If they believed there were more than 144,000 they wouldn't be a JW. It is a major doctrine of their belief system. They are happy because they believe they will be living on the new earth.

I have no idea, but what i do know is Jesus loves everyone equal, and hates sin, and i am also a sinner like a JW, saved by Gods grace hopefully.
Me talking and mocking others or another denomination will never gain me any credit, but just a negative attitude. Evil loves turning brother against brother. Most obvious quote Jesus ever said. Its right in our eyes and all do it. Hypocrites.
Ok, hope you didn't think I was mocking another religion. I heard that from someone and just wanted to see if anyone else had heard the same.

I want to ask them when they knock on my door why Jesus is white and so handsome on there pamphlet. I have always wanted to know. Any JW here can answer?

Romans 1
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

.

Don't feel bad. They feel good that just having right doctrine and knocking door to door earns them salvation...

Persecution just adds to their sense of righteousness.
Yes, but if only we born again believers had half the moxie of the J. W.'s...!

HOW TO WIN A JEHOVAH WITNESS (OR JEWISH PERSON) TO CHRIST WITH A KJV
(an NIV won't work)

------------ 1------------

Point him to Rev. 1:11 and read: "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last"

------------ 2 ------------

Ask him, "Who is the 'first and the last'? Who is speaking?"

------------ 3 ------------

Every J. W. (or Jewish person even slightly versed in scripture) will say, "Jehovah," based on Old Testament verses such as Isaiah 44:6 or 48:12 which say, "I am the first, and I am the last..."; "I am he..."

------------ 4 ------------

Then point him to Rev. 1:18, "I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore"

------------ 5 ------------

Ask him, "When was Jehovah dead?"

------------ 6 ------------

They then realize that Jesus Christ was "God manifest in the flesh" (I Tim. 3:16)

------------ 7 ------------

This technique has been used to lead more J. W.'s to Christ than any other. It works every time I've done it.

A jew, will never use the Name called Jehovah. they don't pronounce the Name that way. its YHWH with is seldom said. they use Heshem, or Elohim, G-D(most common) after Heshem.

Oh forgot this too. They are expected to fill rather like quotas going door to door. It's part of their works to earn salvation.

yes but from a jewish perspective the J sound in English isn't the Y sound. claudya's J would be the same sound. im not a sticker on that but if we are going to talk to a jew. we better know their torah and how they see it.
I think I'd just be safe and use Adonai so as not to take the chance of offending.

I wonder how many other religious persons think Christianity is strange?

I don't. a polite no will suffice. I was one. I have been on both ends. they believe the 144,000 were Christians as they define the term after the "stake" that included the original 11, paul and those followers. they believe that once the 144,000 are called out , the Lord will return to reign and judge the earth. I would have to read up on their literature to be exact as that is by memory and they have changed some things. they don't take the mentioning of revalation in literally as the 144k Hebrews must be males. virgins and never lie and from a tribe.
So why did you quit being JW?
