Bible Study Jeremiah 4:23-26

The 490 years were up and the Jews not only did not repent but they killed the very Messiah they had been waiting for as well as in 24A.D. they made an opened display of rejecting the Gospel message as they stoned Stephen being the final messenger that was sent to give them their last chance to repent. The Jews were now rejected as God’s chosen nation and were no different from the Gentiles as from that time forth each individual, Jew and Gentile has to make their own decision to accept or reject Jesus as Lord and Savior. The disciples were called first to preach to the Jews, Matthew 10:6, and Paul was called to preach to the Gentiles, Acts 22:21.
Hi glory, That is not in my Bible? Yes Paul was called to preach to the Gentile, but where ever he traveled to preach the Gospel, he always preached to the Jew first (always). For the order was, "to the Jew first, and the Gentile." (Rom. 1:16)

"After the flesh" is pejorative. But redeemed and restored Israel will not be "after the flesh", and prophecies pertaining to Zion in the future must be taken in their plain, literal sense (not allegorical about something else). God will re-establish Jerusalem (Zion) on earth for the Millennium and beyond.

I believe Paul was correct when he stated that "all of Israel" shall be saved, even enemies of the Gospel, who are beloved for the sake of the fathers. Romans 11:25-31. I would not think to speak ill of any of them on that basis, but rather show and extend mercy, as I have received and as we are directed to do in the same chapter. Romans 11:31.

Many prophecies have a double application. While Jeremiah was in distress, he was also foretelling the events which are yet to come. Joel's prophecy regarding the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (fulfilled on the day of Pentecost) includes a reference to the Day of the Lord (which is yet future).
And very TRUE on that count. Gods Ways are always a showing in the natural first. Then the spiritual. Jesus for example came to the "natural" people of Israel. To the N.T. church, this visitation is internal and spiritual.

There was a very good reason Paul had for doing that, because he saw that meant the "end game."

Romans 11:
15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?

Edited by reba This was a warning to the Gentile who thought God had rejected the Jew and replaced them with the Gentile. Paul is saying that salvation comes from the Jew, and if because God's rejection of their disobedience brought salvation to the Gentile, how much more He will receive the Jew, for believing the Gospel will bring them back from the dead or rejected.
The beginning Church's birth was at Pentecost, and all born again believers were Jewish only. No Gentile was added to the Church until Cornelius (a Gentile) was added to the Church (Acts chapter 10).

Paul reminds the Gentile of the Jews place in God's purpose. Romans Chapter 10 and 11 should be read all together to understand the purpose of the Scripture.
(Eph. 2:11-22) The Gentile and the Jew are bound together to create one new man in Christ

Paul was abundantly clear on the outcome for "all of Israel" as it pertains to enemies of the Gospel, that they "all" shall be saved. Perhaps it's just a case of denial of what is obviously there, quite plainly, to read? Romans 11:25-31

I'll stick to exactly how Paul says it as there is no reason not to.

There is no compatibility in sharing doctrine and Scriptures with you, you are either opposite, disagree, or rude
A simple i am finished with this discussion is the better way to address this ..

It seems to disturb some if others believe that enemies of the Gospel as it pertains to Israel are ALL saved, that's for sure. Romans 11:25-31.

Why would it bother you if I believe that? Is there HARM to you in that sight? Can't imagine why there would be.

This was a study I did on Jeremiah Chapter 3 where God gave Israel a bill of divorce, but did save a remnant that did turn back.

We might also note in the opposite sense, that besides preaching salvation to the Jew first, Romans 1:16, there is also this:

Romans 2:9
Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

Paul is speaking here about judging others and then doing those same things they are judging others for doing as they will be inexcusable and condemn their own self.
