Not only are you wrong (as the Apostles thought they were seeing a GHOST when they saw Jesus walking towards them on water, after the crucifixion when witnesses saw ghosts rising from graves in Matthew's gospel AND when the Apostles first saw the Risen Lord), but you are off topic. Yet again...
This discussion is about "another comforter" vs. "one comforter". I have given you clear Scripture to indicate that Jesus Himself said HE would send ANOTHER. Not HImself. Another. Yours is just further smoke screens, and I don't see the point in pursuing this further. Scripture proves your thesis incorrect, plain and simple, and you have had plenty of chances to explain it. Unfortunately, your strategy hinges upon pretending the verse doesn't exist and changing the subject...
SonByAdoption said:Holy Spirit is not a name or a Title of any third being. Holy is an adjective describing the mind of God the Father. Sinners have a sinful spirit or a sinful mind.
Again, Scriptures prove this wrong. I am sorry to have to tell you, but Christ clearly tells us He is sending another Comforter. Not Himself. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us, and this is not another name for Christ. Only persons can intercede, not a "force". In addition, the Bible doesn't make the connection that Jesus and the Spirit are one in the same Person.
Regards
“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you ANOTHER COMFORTER, that he may abide with you for ever;†“…lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen†John 14:16 Matthew 28:20
Orthodox Trinitarians interpret Christ’s phrase ANOTHER COMFORTER to mean that there are three Supreme persons and Unorthodox Trinitarians three Supreme beings and when the Son of God returns to heaven Christ and the Father tag this 3rd person or being in like a relay race or a wrestling match and this third person or being named The Holy Spirit leaves heaven and comes into the Trinitarian hearts.
And also the Trinitarian teaching is that John 14:16 “Another Comforter†is Christ’s introduction to His Jewish Disciples of this Third/Person Being because this was a foreign concept to the Jews before this time who only worshipped two beings through the whole old Testament and New Testament. So supposedly John 14:16 is the first time that the Holy Spirit is said to be a third person or a being.
Well in the middle of the very next verse totally proves the Trinitarian interpretation of John 14:16 wrong and shows that they totally take this verse out of context with three simple words Jesus talking to the disciples about this Comforter saying. “YOU KNOW HIM†All a sincere truth seeking Trinitarian has to do to disprove the lies they’ve been taught all their lives is to look up all the times there Jesus used the word. “Know†in their concordance because if it’s true that Jesus taught the disciples that they should know a third being than John 14:16 would not be the first time Jesus taught about it because He said “you Know Him†meaning you already know Him. This is not new for you. So when a truth seeking Trinitarian looks up all the times where Jesus used the word know he or she will find that through Jesus whole ministry He taught the disciples to know the Father and know His Son only two beings in Jesus whole ministry even in the whole chapter of John 14. Like Jesus starts out. Believe in God believe also in me. That’s only two beings. Even in John 17:3 Life eternal to know thee the Only True God and Jesus Christ whom thou has sent. That’s only two beings. If Jesus thought it was so important for people to believe in a third person in order to be saved surely these would have been perfect opportunities to mention it. Trinitarians are clearly taking John 14:16 out of context just like J.W.s take Revelation 3 something I forget where it is where Jesus says He’s the beginning of God’s creation and J.W.s are dogmatic and say no don’t show me any more verses. Stick with this one. Don’t contradict Christ He is saying He is created. Trinitarians misinterpret John 14:16 just like J.W.’s minsinterpret Revelation 3:something.
