Jesus's appearance?

Contrast the spirit of this conversation with the ironic hypocrisy of a belief system that whips its members into a murderous frenzy at any realized image of their prophet, while at the same time their own sacred writings include a disturbingly detailed description of their prophet's physical appearance.

The point being that fleshly physical characteristics are not significant to Christianity.

But it is quite important for Christianity to believe that He came in flesh and He is a Jew came to the lost sheep of Israel through which gentiles saw the light of Him.

I am not actually worried about His appearance but, it is a shame on so called preachers who tell lies about heaven and Christ and deceive people into their lies in the name of visions and dreams.

It is an interesting period in history when the truth is different from what is widely circulated and accepted, and anyone claiming to have seen Christ can be easily verified by a few questions (if he has not already read this thread ;) ).

I understand your concern for purity, etc., but plugging this hole is not going to solve the leak. Falsehood will operate for the full duration of time it is allotted by God. "They have gone out from among us..." Heresy is now riddled through the Church. If you can personally keep yourself pure, and you know the reasons for doing so, then this is a great benefit to you. However, we cannot correct all of the falsehood. There is too much of it; and by doing so we often make the problem worse. Some people are more capable of reasoning with, some are not. Some ideas have deep roots, and they will not pull out at all - they need an axe! Christ and the angels will uproot and axe down all of us that are impure at the time of His coming. This will certainly include the deceivers, false teachers and false prophets. Trust in God, brother.
 
I think I'd like to throw my :twocents in here. Jesus would have looked like any normal Jew at that time. The bible says in Isiah 53 2For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

So al, the blonde flowin locks and beautifu pictures we see are out the window.
When judas came he had to kiss him to identify him. He didn't say,see the tall one who looks handsome etc.

He just looked like an ordinary guy which is why he was able to escape through crowds when they wanted to throw him off the cliff etc. He was just a plain looking guy that wouldn't warrant a second glance. And as for all those pictures that the Jehovah's witness's etc portray I think "You shall not make unto yourself any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth" applies

Wether he was or wasn't isn't the issue. The issue is that he was not a stand out guy in his appearance. And I agree with what was said about corinthians I.e he did not have long hair.

Again, I think we can agree to disagree agreeably but I think the description in isiah 53 is a valid description.:peace

I DID NOT say i think he looks like a Rastafari.

The Rastas all smoke pot and worship Haile Selassie.

Many of them study the Bible and are close to God, they are devoted and live
a life close to nature and in tune with the essence of existence.

Just on the eyes, Jesus had compassion when he looked at the multitudes and wept at the death of Lazarus etc. I'd say your right :yes
 
It's not just any paticular one of you guys. It's this whole lets remold the church and scripture thing. It's like in the last half of the 20th century (Probably since Vatican 2) there has been this effort to remold the church into a more politically correct thing. Not just the Catholic Church, but also the Protestant Churches. It's like we have to change everything, even the appearance of Jesus.

The Church is supposed to be a rock, if you keep picking it apart all we will have left is shifting sand. I don't know about you guys, but in times of trouble, I want to cling to a rock.

Aryan is not a word from European origin but actually a Sanskrit word of Indian origin. Hindusim and all vedas are in Sanskrit are from them. Why is that people who claim to be Aryans or Aryan origin never actually looked like one?

If you look at "the church" as shown in Revelation 2 & 3, we were shown at the time of Christ's coming to be an unmanageable mismatched bunch of heretic believers. Christ calls us vomit in one instance. We don't practice repentance and we do not have any unity. This is the picture from Revelation. We are certainly fulfilling that description! We are a bunch of argumentative kids who will not modify our behavior. We argue over the silliest things. That's us!

Well Felix, i take it that you already know this...but,
The misuse of the term "Aryan" comes from Nazi-Germanic ideology.

In Sanskrit it is originally a term applied to "noble persons" ,
the Brits in India and later Eurocentric pan-Germanic Nazi ideology borrowed the term and twisted the meaning of it horribly.
