I don't have time at the moment to give much of a reply (perhaps I will come back to it) but I would say that one criteria should be whether the Bible contains error / inconsistency. If it does, then that seems to count against it being the word of God. I will start a thread in "Apologetics and Theology" giving an example of where I think the Bible appears inconsistent.

If you took your average Palestinian and average person from Israel and compared DNA you WOULDNT BE ABLE TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE.

The God of Abraham....

The God of Jesus....

The God of Mohammed....

THE SAME GOD!

The biggest laugh for the Devil is watching religious extremists from different lands killing in the name of THE SAME GOD!

Your God is an abstract idea that differs from all other people on the planet.

A personal God is just that... Personal... and Unique in the way it reveals itself to each creature.

Each conception of Jesus is Unique, just as every conception of Allah and Father God is Unique as it varies depending on who you talk too.

Just at least agree with me that we should not promote killing in the name of "God'.
 
Soma I have studied Islam, and their God is not the same God of the Bible, and thats for sure.
 
The Muslim's god didn't have a Son who rose from the dead, and is alive today, and is coming back soon.
The Jews refuse to accept Jesus as Saviour and Lord,even though Jesus was sent to the Jews, first.

The Christian has Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man cometh to the Father but by Him.
Pray for the lost, speak the truth in love to them, but, please, speak the WHOLE truth.

Mohammed was a false prophet & stone idol Allah is a false god

Jesus said the most important commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind & strength

He also said, 'The truth shall set you free'
