YouTube - NTEB: Jews in Israel who believe in Yeshua growing

"This video will blow you away, and you will see something you have not seen before. Jews, in Israel, 15,000 of them and growing, living a completely Jewish life AND they acknowledge Yeshua as Ha' Maschiach. I felt like I was watching the book of Ezekiel come to life. Amazing to watch prophecy being fulfilled before our very eyes."

Now that....that...was truly amazing. Wow. What do you say.

I find it interesting, that they find no contradictions in their life between how they live and how other non-believers live.

I also find it interesting that they absolutely retort the idea that they are called "Christians". I do not blame them to tell you the truth. I am almost to a point where I am going to start calling myself a simple believer rather than "Christian". I have denounced the title of any denomination for a long long time now.

But its interesting, one of the reasons why they denounce the title "Christian" is because people want to put them into a box afterward. Say's a lot about what people think of "Christians" today, huh?

Thanks for the link!

What a beautiful and hope-inspiring piece!

The only thing that was a bit disturbing was the statement made that they reject being considered Christians. They love the entire word of God, both Old and New Testaments, so I can;t understand why they cannot take on the name of Christian in addition to their Messianic Jew identity, just as the first Jewish converts did as recorded in scripture. I understand however, that they want to remain known as Messianic Jews, and so be it.

To me, they are very much Christians! God bless them, and keep them safe!

Yes, I think that is right, which is why they are called that is a derisive way by others. They obviously don't want to be tagged that way, but to retain their Judaic heritage with Christ as their Messiah, and have it know that way. It's a good witness to the Jews.

ashua , here was at one time a messianic jew, albeit a converted one. only a jew that is jew first in birth by mother that is now saved becomes a messianic jew. Unless,he or she converts to them. They are open to gentiles but that isnt their primary mission.

I can understand that, yet, one of my best friends is a Messianic Jew, and what I see is that she and I are one. The One New Man comes into being. No barriers, all one communion in Jesus Christ.

I think it's wonderful that more Jews are coming to know their Messiah, but do you know what I think is really interesting? Here you have people who are keeping the biblical festivals, celebrating the Sabbath on the seventh day, eating only kosher food and keeping a number of other commandments, as well as keeping customs and tradtions, not all of which are biblical, and Christians are going "Yeah! This is great!". But when I tell people that I keep the seventh-day sabbath, celebrate Passover and Channuka rather than Christimas and Easter, and that I don't eat pork or shellfish, then I'm accused of "judaizing" and told I need to repent. I've even been told to my face (i.e. in real life) that I'm not saved because I follow the law and have rejected Christ.

That is a great point theo...

Do we know why they are keeping these customs?

Salvation is in the Lord. If these customs are being kept to 'aid' in salvation that is a problem. If a person doesn't eat pork because doing so 'would just kill mama' their is no harm. There is no salvation in keeping Sabbath, and no harm in keeping Sabbath. One does not have a 'higher' place in the Kingdom becasus they celebrate Channuka nor a lower.

Some Christian some place will attack another quicker then chickens attack their own.

I along with many Christians often will refer to Jews who receive their Messiah as 'completed Jews'. Indeed they are! I do not believe they err in continuing in their Jewish customs. If anyone, they could do so and it would not appear a religious affectation.

seventh day sabbath? the jews even now, call the shabat saturday. the messianics dont have sunday services its all on saturday. shabat is from sunset on friday to sunset on saturday. i agree with christmas and well i'm too old and dont have kids for easter egg hunting. communion need not be on any set day. as ye oft..i dont have a problem with that postion , just see it as volunteering thing to do.

chanukah is in the bible , not christmas. its called the festival of lights. and jesus celebrated it.

OK I stopped thinking at the end of OT. :(

Masada happened in between the OT and NT correct....Isnt that part of the reason for Hanukkah ?

So it makes sense He would have celebrated it! DUH

no, the seven day rediacation of the temple is what hannukah is about.

the maccabean revolution removed jerusalem from the bondage and grip of antiochus the IV.

I will take your words for truth..

This is what happens when stories get all mixed together thanks Jason

What's the difference between Yeshu and Yeshua? and who is Yoshke?

From Wikipedia!

In modern Hebrew, Yeshu (ישו) and Yeshua (ישוע) are the common transcriptions for Jesus —the two different names have different emphasis. Yeshu is used in most contexts in modern Hebrew to refer to Jesus of Nazareth.

Does anyone here believe that it is okay for English people to call Jesus Yeshu or Yeshua like people in the Hebrew Roots movement do? There are people out there that are saying we have to call the characters in the Bible by there Hebrew names. Is it okay to speak of the name of Jesus translated in another language?
