It would seem logical, but I see people arguing no matter what. :-? It is a bit sad, really.

If Christians believed Jesus when he said we have one teacher and that is the Christ, then there would be no arguing. Paul tells us the same thing.

But paul also tells us; "No doubt there have to be differences among you show who is approved by God." Those who agree withe God are approved by God and those who disagree with him are not.

But unfortunately, even people who replace the bible with their own made-up gospels also think they are approved by God no matter how much they contradict scripture. I have no idea where they get the notion they are approved by God except that they simply want to believe it. Sorry, but the bible tells us how to recognize those who call Jesus Lord & will not enter the kingdom of heaven from those who will enter it. All one has to do is believe God's Word and he will know the truth. But sadly, most do not.

And I see the wonderful part of being approved by God is not so much the here and now. It is not what others may think of us and not the doctrine that we ascribe to but what Christ says when we stand before him. Each of us that are born of Him will give account unto Him and Him alone. We are not judged according to what the Solo's of this world think, but according to the righteousness of God which is through Christ Jesus our Lord.

I am sorry, but I could not help but noticing that this thread about arguing is turning into an argument.

I am a Protestant. I have nothing against Catholics. I am a Baptist. I have nothing against Pentacostals. We all chose the path to Christ, and we all believe that Jesus is God. Isn't that what really counts?

Should we not fight against Pagans, Atheists, or cults instead of each other. They are taking God out of our government! I think that is something to be concerned about. They are taking away our religious freedom. What we should be doing is fighting against that.

I repeat that I do not mind a good debate, and I am not guiltless for joining in a few of them. In fact, I learn a lot from debates.

I know to you I sound corny or something, but I have never been "cool" and never wanted to be so it does not matter.

I'm sorry to dispel your understanding of all of us coz I'm not with the 'in' crowd either.

What distinguishes me from some others on this forum?

1. I did not choose a path to Christ. He chose me.
2. I do not accept that Jesus is God. He is the son of God.
3. I do not agree that we should fight against those that God has put in authority. We will end up fighting against God.

Wanna argue about any of that?

Leave it to Heidi to get 'all serious' on us, (he he he), just joking dear one.

You are absolutely right, and that was much of the thought at heart when posting such an absolutely ridiculous post. I just felt at the time it might bring to others hearts the same conviction.

Other than the jokers, smokers, and midnight................... (no, just jokin again), it seemed to have offered at least a 'little' of what I had hoped, and the humor break sure made me 'feel' better for a time.

I sure hope you are absolutely sure that the Government is chosen by God. I am certainly not convinced of that. I have seen what our government does. The Media is our enemy. Sure, I watch the news, and listen to them, but I don't trust everything they say. You look your enemy straight in the eye every day and think he is your friend. Jesus said the Anti-Christ will look like an Angel of Light. You have to keep your guard up.

I cannot be dispelled of what I think about you, because I do not understand you. But I knew you were one us, A Christian.

And, oh by the way, every one who is saved was called by God and they answered. Jesus the only way to God. Jesus told the Pharisees He was God, they said it was blasphemy and had Him killed.

Mark Chapter 14

62 And Jesus said, I am: and you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Luke Chapter 22
70 Then said they all, Are you then the Son of God? And he said to them, You say that I am.

I AM is God's name! That is what Yahweh and Jehovah mean!!

Matthew chapter 12
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

Mark Chapter 3
24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but has an end.

Thankyou for taking up the challenge of a good argument Christine. ;-)

As Imagican pointed out he started this thread as a means of lightening the heart and it has done that for me, but I am obviously still prepared to be challenged by one such as yourself on the serious matters of our faith.

Would you like to me address the points that you have raised?

No thanks, that would be the equivalent of banging my head against a brick wall.
Let's leave this discussion while the getting's good.

 A good move!

Yes I know my foundation is solid. It is Christ - the solid rock, the chief cornerstone so no matter what may be thrown at me, unless Christ persuade me otherwise, I shall not be moved.

Of course brick walls are far less solid. ;-)

Yes, most definitely! :D

Banging one's head against a 'brick wall' I've heard is a successful way of getting rid of a headache..........or........... a backache,,,,,,,,,,,,,, or something, I can't remember why I did it now!!!!!!

I always like to bang my head against brick walls... makes me totally forget why I was banging it in the first place

Got a problem with that? :-D

I heard that if you have a headache, kicking a brick wall will make you forget it while you are babying your broken toe. :-D

 I'm having visions of people lined up at the wall in Jerusalem rocking backwards & forwards as they do. Have they got that down to fine art or what! You dont see them hitting their heads on it too often huh. Anyone know why they do that by the way?

That's a funny vision mutzrein! LOL, got me to chuckle pretty good :D

To kind of answer your question in my own words, that wall is the only wall left of the original temple and the Jews go there to mourn over it's destruction by I believe Nero in around 70 AD. Remember, they (The Jews) are still waiting for their messiah.

Do a search on the wailing wall if you want to know more about it.

Thanks Stove - I did that & looked at quite a few sites on the wailing wall.

You know as I was looking at these people I was overcome with tears - I still am and I still don't fully understand it except of course that the Spirit of God is in it.

Hey Mutzrein,

I havn't done much research on the wall, but I agree, it's a sad thing that sombody could be so close to Christ, yet miss him if that is what your speaking about as I reflect upon my own limitations. I think about my own faults that I am unable to see... and like the Jews, I am so close to Christ, yet unable to fully see Him in or around me.

You speak about the Spirit of God being in it. Can you expound upon your thoughts? What is it at the end of your statment?

Thank you for your thoughts.

Thanks Jeff

My reference to the Spirit of God is in regard to the cause of my weeping. Now, even as I write - even as I think about these who are God's people, who as yet have not recognised their Messiah, I weep. The scripture in Matthew has been resounding in my heart and mind, "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing."

There will come a day when the gathering will take place but for now I weep.
