Just one big rant...neighbors ill tempered dogs

Dogs get much more protective and aggressive at 10months old, fyi....
Thats what happened with the Rottie in NY. She was funny and playful at first. The she turned into a rabid, snarling child eating fiend.
I called the property mgr and left a pretty stern message and I'll be dropping off the flyer I linked to before (20 copies or so) for her to give out to tenants with dogs and Im telling her that the police have already given me the ok to deal with the dog if it comes at us again with its teeth showing.

Hopefully theyre not ignorant enough to be willing to get evicted over not keeping their dog under control. And Im fairly certain the rules here say no pitbulls or Rotties to begin with so I'll have to check on that one too.

my homeowners insurance would charge me the triple rate if had a rottie or german shephard and pit bull.
hmmmmm...interesting.
We're required to carry renters insurance here, everyone is. Maybe letting someone insurance know that they have a pitbull ;)

renters insurance may have different sets of rules, than the homeowners, i could pay more for those trampolines if i had one, get this a green one if i live near a ditch that drains into intercoastal waterway, and what part of the coastal counties in florida dont have those.

be careful all the renters may pay more rent. because of that.

Completely agree FoC - that really annoys me as well.

We had a rottie in our area a few years ago that attacked our dog. It cost thousands of dollars in operations for us to fix her up. :sad. This happened to a few other dogs in the area, and eventaully the police came and took the dog away and killed it. :).

Love the flyer, btw! :thumb

The dogs aren't the problem no matter what the breed. The irresponsible owners are the problem.

Definitely agree on that one.
Every now and then some cur dog has a facial tick and a nervous twitch that makes it crazy, but those seem to be rare enough. Most of the time it falls on the idiot owner and their complete lack of sense.

I talked to the property mgr this morning. Gave her 20 of those flyers and told her she really needs to let folks know how serious this is. Just as soon as Im convinced the dog is going to bite me its leaving in a body bag, no questions asked. She needs to let these owners know that some folks around here ARE lawfully carrying firearms for self defense and vicious dogs pretty much have no rights at all.

She said Im not the first complaint she had. She even had dog control out here last week and they tagged the wrong dog (who mistakes a rabid pitbull for a nervous chihuahua ???).
So she's giving the owner a three day eviction notice that is conditional....with the condition being that the dog is gone by the third day.

So we come home from Kmart (in Grove city) about 1/2 hour ago and the male owner has the dog out on a leash and my wife says he was staring her down as we walked up the path to our door (wished Id have noticed at the time...I simply LOVE macho staring contexts ;) )

Looks like either the dog is gone or theyre all gone.
Funny thing tho is there is a list of animals we ARENT allowed to have here and pitbull is right up towards the top :nono
